Happy Tuesday, friends! I thought I'd talk about a few random things today on my blog since I don't really have another plan in place for today. (I've been struggling with content ideas lately, so feel free to reach out if you have ideas!)

This is one of my favorite Bible verses; I read this chapter while I was in McKinney a couple weekends ago. I've always loved it, but it's come to mean a lot more to me this last year. Speaking of that, I can't believe it's the month of the time last year when life as I knew it crumbled around me. I went to dinner with someone this past weekend who is really going through it with her own divorce right now; all I could say to her as I heard her story was that I was sorry to hear that she was going through such a hard time, and I encouraged her to hang in there, because the other side is so much better. I foresee myself going down a lot of rabbit trails this month as I look back to this time last year.

On Sunday afternoon, I left my house to go hang out with J at his house. He told me to bring a swimsuit so we could swim, if we wanted to do that. I am not yet prepared to swim with a man, though...so I wore my suit and a coverup just in case, but I didn't get into the water. This was my nervous face about all of that. 🤣

I sat at the edge and dangled my feet in the water while he was in the pool, though. It was nice to sit in the sun by the pool reading while he finished up yard work. He got out of the pool and he moved onto the next thing he wanted to do, which was to wash his work truck. I told him I'd help him do this, but when I went into his house to refill my water and then came out a few minutes later, I found him washing my vehicle instead.

I don't know that I've ever had a man wash my car before, but I have to say that it was one of the sweetest gestures I've been privy to as an adult. And yes, he was using a leaf blower to dry the car off when he finished, but he used a microfiber towel to wipe down all the windows and lights. The blower was pretty genius, right?

Remember when I worked in this cool building? I went there yesterday to pick up something my best friend printed off for me. I don't have a printer, and I needed to fill out a form before yesterday's appointment for a new passport. I still love this building, but I don't miss the stairs. 🤣 They're a killer! I enjoyed sitting and talking to Missy for an hour while she worked and I killed time. Speaking of time, I'm so grateful that this appointment took care of what I needed to do! Getting divorced and changing your name back to your maiden name is a giant hassle, but also one that's worth it so that I can separate myself from his name. This was my second appointment in almost as many days to do something pertaining to this!

Stella update! She's still a punk, and she's not my favorite.

Tis the season to change screensavers and phone cases!

The brighter the better in the summer season!

Get you a dog that looks at you like Chloe was looking at me yesterday morning! She was coming in for kisses right when I took this picture.

What's random in your life right now? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for reading my blog today, friends. Love to all!

weekending

Happy Monday, friends! How was your weekend? I hope you can say that it was good! Mine was...here are a few things I did to occupy my time.

I took it easy on Friday morning and did some things around my house, and was kind of lazy. It was nice! But I had errands to run that day...big ones that involved me going into the downtown area of Memphis...and Mom went with me. We started with sushi for lunch. It was delicious!

I made her pose for my picture on the courthouse steps. Life is short; take the pictures!

It was such a beautiful day, and I was glad that she was willing to go with me. I came home for a very short while and cleaned the gutters along the front of my house, and then a spider fell on me, so I had to burn change my clothes before leaving again. I met up with J for a couple of hours, and then I went to dinner with Marilyn and another friend named Stephanie.

We had such a good dinner! After dinner, Mar and I sat in my car to catch up and then we drove around for a little bit. We proceeded to laugh ourselves silly once again at some inside jokes, and then we parted ways. I went to bed pretty early that night. On Saturday I spent some time doing a few much-needed things around my house; I did laundry, I cleaned/vacuumed, I cleaned out my refrigerator, and then I went to hang out with J again. We spent the day on the road going all over the city, and then we ended with dinner.

This was our ride! He has a '91 Astro van that is lowered. We got some looks in this thing, and I laughed every time. It was a fun day! After dinner we went back to his house and watched the newest Marvel movie, and I fell asleep while watching. I have an issue with this!

I was up early on Sunday, and saw this on IG that I liked.

It just kind of stood out to me, honestly. I've had a lot of criticism in my life lately.

Sundays come early after Saturday nights out! I did not want to leave at the time I left for church/work yesterday, but I survived. I came home after church and had lunch and then did some work for my blog this week. I watched several episodes of the show Sirens I've been watching on Netflix, and it was an easy day. It was nice!

Did you do anything fun this weekend? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for reading my blog today, friends. Love to all!
