Happy Friday, friends! I feel like I'm needing time to slow down just a little bit for me...the summer is almost over for me and before I know it, I'll be working full time work once again. I say that like I'm dreading this, but that really isn't the case. I do expect my life to change, but it's all stuff that I'm ready for and more than okay with. I have some favorites from the week! Here they are...
Sunday was not my favorite, since it was my first Father's day without my dad. Honestly, the day was hard because only two people acknowledged what the day was to me: Marilyn and J. I appreciated that they both said something and spoke words of kindness and care over me.
Attending this concert with J, his son, and Marilyn last weekend was my favorite! The band might not have been my favorite, but seeing J having so much fun singing along with every word was the highlight of the night. So was him swaying along to the music with me, feeling his arm around me, and having intense eye contact when we would look at each other and smile or talk. It kind of felt like sparks were flying, and I am here for that! 🤣
Every year on Father's day, the men in church lead us in singing; this is always a favorite, having all those men up there on stage and hearing their deep, booming voices singing together so beautifully.
Seeing sweet Emma, one of "my" girls from her high school years, was my favorite this week! I ran into her at lunch after church on Sunday, and it was great getting to hug her neck.
The epic nap that happened after I took this picture last weekend was my favorite! I was exhausted from being up way past my bedtime last Saturday night, but I would not have changed one second of that night.
I just so happen to have a tall, tattooed man who loves to give me all the hugs I ask for! Hugs are my favorite.
The Salad Station for lunch on Monday with Marilyn was my favorite!
This spicy margarita is my new favorite drink! I had this Monday night at a local bar and grille.
The memory that comes from purchasing this little friend who lives in my car is my favorite! Amy pretty much made me buy him when I was in Louisville this spring. He's like a little stress toy, and I'm always messing with him while driving down the road. He reminds me of J. 🤣
This sweet friend is one of my favorites! She and I go way back, and she's married to my town's police chief. She has a new invested interest in my life and is one of my biggest cheerleaders.
Karen is the one who invited me into her Bunco group this year; it was my turn to host this week, and she let me host at her beautiful home. This was a favorite night, for sure!
Wednesday was a favorite day this week because it was work bestie's last chemo treatment! We all wore pink on Wednesday to celebrate her, and I couldn't be more happy for her.
It was such a fun morning!
This was one of my favorite things from socials this week!
These baby girls are a couple of my favorites! Please note their new, matching neon pink collars. They know they're pretty!
Running to my town hall is always a favorite! I had to pay my water bill on Wednesday and stopped to appreciate the scenery.
Nail day is always a favorite day!
I bought this cute anklet this week from Amazon! It's my new favorite and it's super sparkly.
This was my excited face over getting to see J on a random Wednesday night. It felt like a long time since I'd last seen him on Saturday night!
Dinner with Andrea was a favorite this week! I love this dear friend.
It was a great week! What was a favorite of yours from this week? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for reading my blog today, friends. Love to all!
Jenn
Enjoyed your list of favorites! What a great curation covering fashion, friends, your *special* friend, great sounds, cute dogs, good memes and more :). The most important thing is that your smile radiates joy and that comes from a contented heart. I hope your weekend is as good as your week :).
ReplyDeleteThank you, friend! I am very content with life, you are right. I just told Amy that I am thoroughly enjoying this season of life, and soaking up all the moments. I hope you enjoy your weekend!
DeleteMaybe the doll manifested J.? I have been called a witch before!
ReplyDeleteDon't look at it like how much time you don't have left but how much time you do have left. Do you have a gap between church job ending and new job starting? Maybe that is the issue at hand? And, also your weekends will still be summer weekends!
I literally sent him that picture and basically said the same thing, but I said that it might have been prophetic. 🤣 He said he saw the resemblance of it and him! I do have a gap between old/new job. Next week is my last week, and I have two more Sundays! I'm counting down, and that's so true about the weekends still being summer weekends. I still want the time to slow down a little because I love this season of life that I'm in, but I know it'll just keep getting better as time passes. I'm trying to enjoy all of the seconds!
DeleteCreepy little doll, hopefully it won't cause an engine fire or ten car pile-up on the freeway.
ReplyDeleteYou call him creepy, I call him cute!
DeleteOK, but if weird stuff happens on the roads and highways, burn it with fire then bury the ashes.
DeleteThat literally just made me laugh out loud. I got you! Thanks for the Friday laugh; I hope you have a great weekend, whoever you are.
DeleteYou're welcome. Sweetallysum here, you can find me over on Political Wire arguing about how to change the world's politics.
DeleteI love the doll! The resemblance to J is uncanny. I hope you enjoy your last full weeks of summer. I've been reading your blog for a couple of years now, but I rarely comment. I've been pulling for you!
ReplyDeleteI live in the city you visited a couple of weeks ago, so I enjoyed reading that post!
I said I need summer to slow down a little too and we're only just starting ours here.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry Sunday was a tough day. Sending love and hugs.
I love that sparks were flying at the concert, it sounds like a fantastic evening! That doll does look like J!
That is so cool that all the men lead the singing at church on Father's Day, so special!
That is fantastic news about your friends last chemo treatment.
I'm glad you have a few weeks to soak up summer before school starts. You look so happy in these pictures. Hope you have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I missed something. J. J. J. So happy there is a J. and that J. loves to hug and take you places and treat you well. And there is a J. doll that can be with you when J. cannot. But somehow I missed the meeting of J. How he came into your life. Or maybe he was always there, off stage? Sometimes the best guys are the ones that were waiting in the wings.
ReplyDeleteLOVE that pink dress. Happy for your work bestie to have fought a terrific battle against cancer and won. Your nail color is so cheerful and gimme all the bling in the form of an ankle bracelet. No, anklet? Whatevs.
So glad to see you happy.
