Happy Tuesday, friends! In continuation of the last few Tuesdays, I thought I would keep up the streak of talking about some random things for today's blog post. About this image at the top, do you follow Mel Robbins on socials? I really like her accounts; if you've never heard of her, you should check her out.
I finished my paperwork for my new job yesterday! I had to submit some test results that I had completed two years ago, I got my results back from a skin test and physical appointment that I had last week, and I finally got my proof of identity in the mail. It was a serious pain having to change back to my maiden name, but I'm mostly done now. I have to update some accounts that I have, but I'm working on those things as I write this. My last step of this onboarding process for my job is getting my work email set up; I'm having technical problems and have to schedule an appointment with someone there to help me. I did it fine on my own two years ago, but I think it's because I have new phone number now.
Who am I wearing shorts all the time now? It's too hot for pants, which is what I had on at first yesterday when I ran out to do work errands. I immediately came home to change! My only issue with shorts is that the backs of my legs get stuck to booths; and also, sometimes I'm sweaty there when it's hot. I don't know that there's anything I can do to change this, so feel free to share your tips and tricks if you have any!
This is the week I'm getting better with eating at home; I ordered groceries from Walmart for the week in anticipation of eating here at least twice this week. Wish me luck! That being said, I had dinner out last night with my best friend, but tonight I'm home. I think? I'll at least be eating at home, even if I do something later.
I changed clothes three times yesterday; some things never change, since I've been like this since I was a young girl! 🤣 I got dressed to run an errand for my new job, then I came home and changed into shorts and a tee when I was hot, then I left for dinner and changed again into a third outfit. I didn't want to wear shorts to dinner, since the restaurant is known to be cold every time I go. Isn't this shirt cute? I ordered it from Shein recently, but I thought it was a dress. It's clearly a shirt, so I'll keep it and wear it with leggings or fitted pants.
I loved both of these things I've seen on socials recently! Also, I'm not sure how I'm going to survive a week without seeing Marilyn. It's been about thirty hours since I've seen her as I'm writing this, and I'm already bored out of my mind. Yikes! I'm browsing Amazon at the same time, and I might get in trouble this week.
Tell me something you want to talk about that's random! Thanks for being here to read today, friends. Love to all!
Jenn ❤️
Oh goodness, I am queen of changing outfits during the day! Partly it's because some days I have a variety of places to be and some outfits seem more appropriate than others. I am trying to do this less (change outfits) and yesterday it bit me. I kept the same light colored shirt I'd originally had on to go to the store and of course I looked down at one point and something from the store had gotten on my shirt and now I don''t know if it will come out. Ugh. Shoulda just changed outfits. Enjoyed reading your random bits and hope that you get everything figured out for school :). Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteIt's not just me?! That's so frustrating that you may not be able to get that stain out. I hope that's not the case! Thank you! I hope the same for you, sweet friend.
DeleteI don't have advice for the shorts problem but hope someone will chime in here- ha! That is so funny that you change three times a day- that is a very sweet trait! Good luck holding back on Amazon- here for you ;)
ReplyDeleteRight?! Me too. A towel is a great idea, like Amy recommended below. Thanks for being here for me! 🤣
DeleteThe curse of the shorts sticking to a booth or a chair. Last night I took a golf towel to my baseball stadium seat to sit on and it was a lifesaver. I change two to three times a day, too! Love that top. In my 20s I had a short sleeve denim button down shirt that I wore the heck out of. It looks really good with white or black, too!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea! I'm so glad it's not just me who does this. I will wear this shirt a lot, because it's so versatile! I'm kinda glad it is a shirt, because it'll carry over well into the fall.
DeleteI typically only change if we're going out in the evening. I just told my hubs last night we need to go a week without ordering something online. He's worse than me lol. Hope you get the technology sorted and enjoy your new job!
ReplyDeleteThose are very wise words from Mel Robbins!
ReplyDeleteI am pleased you got all the paperwork done for your new job! I hope you get the rest of the things sorted without too much hassle.
I hope you survive the week without Marilyn. hehehe
Hi Jenn! Yes, Mel Robbins is a great account to follow! Such great words of wisdom and wonderful advice! I like the towel trick for shorts and leg problem-nothing worse than scorching your legs if you have leather interior in your car. That's one downer to summer! I would love for you to think about discussing bible journaling more and whether or not you use a planner. That's super random I know, but I would like to see. Have a blessed day!
