Friday Favorites, 8.22.2025.

Happy Friday, friends! I totally forgot to write this post until 5:50 a.m. this morning, so I'm making my greeting (and post) short and sweet. I hope your week has been amazing! Here are some of my favorite moments from this week...

Jonah's friends came over one night and brought their little puppy,  Gracie. It's always a favorite of the dogs here to have another furry friend visit!

Iced coffee in the mornings will always be my favorite! I never finish it, so I take it and add what's left into a protein shake for work that I take in a to-go cup every morning.

Meeting a friend at a bar Sunday night was a favorite! I'd never been to this particular spot, but it was fun. They played great music while we talked.

Teddy Swims was a favorite of mine this week for sure! I still can't get over his concert last weekend.

Chris has been a favorite part of my week! I haven't seen him since the night we took this picture, but we've talked on the phone a lot. His life is slightly crazy right now with moving.

Jennifer (ex husband's girlfriend) texted me this last weekend of all the dogs! They had Graham's baby dog, our old dog Crash, plus Jonah's two girls. Isn't this hilarious? And yes, you read right that she and I text, because we're friends. I've gotten to know her and we communicate often sometimes. We've met for lunch, and she came to my house with him once. I hope to see her again sometime soon when it's just us again. She's been so good to my sons! No negative comments about this statement or her name, please and thank you.

Here are my outfits from this week; I'm so ready to move onto my fall clothes like I talked about yesterday!

Journaling everyday has been a favorite of mine; I have time at work that's free each morning, and I've been taking my journal with me to write. I never have anything to do, so it's a great way to fill my time.

Lastly, this night with Kendra on Thursday was a favorite; we met at Skybox to have dinner and a drink. I always love catching up with her, but I also ran into a dear old friend that I've known for twenty one years. We exchanged numbers and made promises to get together and catch up one of these days.

What was a favorite of yours? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for reading my blog today, friends. Love to all!

Jenn

  1. That picture of 6 dogs is so funny! It's like a dysfunctional dog family photo. I think it's great that you can text/talk to ex hub gf. That shows maturity and like it or not, you are part of each others' lives.
    Great outfits!
You were pretty social this week!

    1. I'm not sure about that, they look to me like they're plotting something sinister.

    2. Amy, I think it's hilarious! And thank you for the support in that; I think it's great that we can talk as well. I've learned to accept it all and just move on. Thanks for the outfit love! I was pretty social! I do enjoy getting out after work sometimes.

    3. Anonymous, that made me laugh! A couple of the dogs just might be doing that evil planning. 🤣

  2. When you're friends with the ex's current partner this can turn into a valuable tool later. My parents divorced and after dad remarried, his wife and my mom became friends. Of course after they too divorced, mom and the new ex were able to exchange lots of valuable info re finances, assets which benefitted both. He finally left for europe never to be seen again. 🥳

    1. I'm not necessarily looking to do this as a tool for later, but I do like that we can be friendly and text. That's terrible about your dad!

  4. In the long run, you are always better off when you have good relationships with people. Clearly, you are a thoughtful person who is able to see the best in someone and clearly seeks to live out your faith. That is such a great example for your boys! (And for everyone who reads your blog!)

    1. This is so true! Thank you for your kind words. I try to do that, but I sure do mess up a lot. It's a balance and I just keep learning as I go along my merry way. I appreciate your encouragement, though. I hope you have a great weekend!

  6. That is a good idea adding your leftover iced coffee to a protein shake!
I love that photo of all the dogs on the sofa and how lovely you are friends with your ex husbands girlfriend.
I am ready for Fall outfits too, reading your post from yesterday made me realise how much!

    1. It's so yummy! I love doing that. Thanks for your kind words! Our temps seem cooler this weekend, but maybe it's just the humidity is lower? Either way, I'm so ready for cool weather!

    1. Thank you! I love that outfit. That was a shirt I ordered from Shein; I thought it was a dress, but it was a tunic instead. I'm not mad about it, honestly! I'll see you this afternoon!

  8. Your Friday post was brimming with joy and contentment! As I've followed your journey this past year, that has been my prayer for you and while every day can't be that way, I do sense that you are in a happy place which makes me smile! You've been on quite a journey and from all I've read here, your faith, and resilience as well as the friendships and love surrounding you, have made you stronger in every way! Happy weekend!

    1. Thank you for that, Laura, but mostly, thank you for praying for me this last year! You have no idea what that means to me. I have had so many people from the blog world reach out to tell me this, and it never ceases to blow my mind, how we can all love and pray for each other, without really knowing one another in person. It's amazing how the Lord weaves us all together like that! I am in a very content place in life; somedays are very happy and up, other days are still hard and kind of sad when I realize how much life has changed for me. I am sure someday I'll stop thinking of the death of what I had hoped my future would look like. I know that someday I'll find the man that God had for me all along, and it'll be even better than anything I could dream of or imagine. Until then, I'm enjoying meeting new friends along the way and seeing where things go with Chris.

Thank you again, sweet friend. I hope you enjoy your weekend!

  9. The dog picture is so fun! I'm glad you're able to have a civil friendship with the girlfriend - hard to do, but good for your peace of mind.
