inspired writing Tuesday--home

Happy Tuesday, friends! I've been feeling inspired to write lately, so I want to start sharing some of that here. I hope you enjoy today's post, and the ones I have planned to come in the following weeks. Happy reading! Feel free to leave me your thoughts or suggestions at the end of today's post.

.......................................................................

For over two decades, my home has been more than walls and windows—it's been the place where my life has unfolded with quiet strength.

It's held laughter, tears, kids growing up, late night conversations, meals, holidays, and those slow peaceful mornings when the world felt gentle.

Every corner has a memory.

There's a sweetness in loving a place that has loved you back—a kind of comfort that settles into your bones. I know which spots creak in the floor, where the lights hits just right in the afternoon, and how the air feels different when the seasons change.

These little things feel like old friends.

This house has carried me through heartbreak and healing, through ordinary days and extraordinary moments.

It's where I've learned, where I've changed, where I've blended in, and where I've grown into the woman I am today.

It's where I've been held steady.

Twenty-two years later, I'm still grateful for every time that I get to walk through the doors. It's my safe place, my soft landing, my little piece of joy in this big, noisy world.

It's home.

I hope you enjoyed today's post, friends. Feel free to leave me your thoughts or suggestions on what to write about next week! Love to all.

  1. Hey Jenn :) I love this writing bit on Tuesdays. I love seeing a piece of your heart in the posts. You could write about things the Lord has taught you over this past year. What moving on feels like. Your boys. Working. All the changes that have happened, but from the perspective of growth and Jesus :) All of it is worthy and part of your journey. God is so good to carry us, isn't he? I'm so glad you're thriving. It's been quite the year my friend. Lots of love to you and your boys this week. Eat some good stuff! And by "good" I don't mean healthy :)

    1. Thank you, Debbie! It does feel like I expose a little more with these posts than with the other ones that I usually write. I appreciate the suggestions; all of those are great ideas. I will get to thinking about that now! Yes, God is so good to carry us through all the times in our lives: the good, the bad, the easy, the hard. I'm so thankful for Him! I hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving, my friend. Much love!

  3. I feel the exact same way about my home! You articulated everything so well here. I´ve lived here almost as long as you´ve lived in yours so we´ve even been in our homes close to the same amount of time :). I genuinely enjoy reading the gamut from the serious (probably my favorite genre of topic) to the silly. I like your faith posts and ones about your family. Have a great day!

    1. Aw, I don't know if I realized you'd been in your house as long as I've been here! Aren't we fortunate to be able to say this? Thank you, friend. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  4. Beautiful! It reminds me of Joyce's last hodgepodge question where we celebrated the good things about our homes. The life our homes have seen!

    1. Thank you! So would you believe I'd already written this when I read her last question last week? I'd written this in my journal, so I just had to type it out here. How funny, right? Oh, the life our homes have seen! What a thought.
