Happy Monday, friends! I hope you had a great weekend! I can't wait to hear from you at the end of today's post. I'm linking up with Holly and Sarah for today's blog post. I'll jump right in!
The last day of school was pajama day or comfy/cozy day; I wore my typical outfit that I'd wear at home if I were in for the night: leggings and my "this is my Hallmark Christmas movie watching" hoodie. I went with bright red lipstick for the day, obviously! I love being comfy at work.
I collected so many gifts at work! Mostly gift cards to places like Starbucks, Chick Fil A, Ulta, Amazon, and Target; these are my favorite and I can't wait to use them. I was also gifted these beautiful gold bow earrings from my friend Heather! I put them on immediately after opening them.
I walked all over the building for the few hours we were there; I covered two third grade classes for thirty minutes each, then I witnessed an adorable choral performance with the first graders. My little friend B is the one you see sitting on her legs in the green red and white striped sweater. She saw me from way down the hall and yelled for me to come to see her, so I went. How can I resist this angel? She drug me down the hall with her and this is where I landed. The kids were dismissed by about twelve ten that day; we had a brief end of semester meeting in the library, then we were let go! I went to lunch with two friends, Karen and Lindsey. I came home after lunch and took a nap! This felt decadent.
I drove to Chris that afternoon.
I love a beautiful sunset! We had the best dinner at a barbecue place near him; he got ribs and I got the smoked chicken so we could share. It was so good! We didn't do a lot other than this, then we watched a show together.
I didn't do much on Saturday since someone needed to be home with Chloe. Jonah asked if I'd mind being with her for part of that day since he went to ride four wheelers with friends. I didn't mind at all, and she is extra pitiful right now because her paw is hurting her. She won't walk on it at all after messing with it a little on Friday; this is why she has to be supervised 24/7. She's also still a little loopy because of the medicines she's on. Chris came to me that afternoon, and I introduced him to my favorite taco food truck, Taco-N-Ganas.
I had two with barbacoa, which is a slow roasted beef, and he had one shrimp and one chicken. It was delicious! I haven't been there since June of this year, but the weather was really mild, so we didn't mind sitting outside and eating. He's always cold, y'all; I don't know if it's going to last between us for this reason. 🤣 We watched a slightly terrible Christmas movie after this at my house, after we stopped for ice cream. The movie was from 2014 and had Robin Williams in it; we wondered if it was one of his last? It was A Merry Friggin' Christmas on Amazon Prime. It actually turned out to be pretty good by the end!
I was at church bright and early Sunday morning!
I worked in the tech booth that morning. Drew came to church today, so I went to lunch with him, his girlfriend, and Jonah. Later that afternoon, Noah arrived home! It was so good to see him and squeeze him.
He brought Rocket!
Stella isn't too sure about him, especially since Rocket "talks" a lot. Chris came over that afternoon to meet Noah, and I was glad to see them getting along. I love that all my boys have now met him, and that they love him so much. They ended up leaving to go do a couple of things, so while they were gone, Chris and I went to grab dinner. We went to a Chinese buffet, which was delicious! The boys ended up coming home again for a few minutes before leaving again, then Chris left as well, since he has work tomorrow.
We watched The Family Stone together for a while before he left; I loved introducing him to my favorite Christmas movie! What did you do that you loved this weekend? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for reading my blog today, friends. Love to all!
Jenn

So glad your Noah is home! Enjoy your first day of Christmas break!
ReplyDeleteMe too! Thank you. It feels so good for all of them to be in the same city as me!
DeleteThose gold bow earrings are lovely! So glad Noah is home for the holidays. We had two Christmas parties this weekend and I had a lot of fun at both.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love them so much. I bet that was a fun weekend!
DeleteYour weekend sounds really nice! Glad that now all of your boys have met Chris and everyone gets along/likes each other. So only a half day your last day before break? Nice!! How wonderful to have a big long break now. The earrings you received are so pretty! I think I would have put them on right away, too! Have a great Monday!
ReplyDeleteYes! I love that they've all met him now and approve. I knew they would, but I was waiting on Noah to meet him. No, girl! My last half day was Friday, and I am on break. I hope you have a great day and enjoy your first day of break!
DeleteSounds like a great weekend! I'm sure you're going to savor ALL the time with ALL the boys while you can - nice that you don't have to think about work, right? We actually do one of our Christmases the week before Christmas so that was this past weekend. Now on to all the stuff I host this week :). Have a beautiful week.
ReplyDeleteIt was! I am going to love having them all at home with me, that is for sure. It is wonderful not having to think about work! It's nice that you get one celebration with over early. Enjoy every moment, my friend!
DeleteOur neighbor dog is the same as Rocket and "talks" so much! We walk by her yard and we feel like she says "woo woo". I bet Stella is like what is wrong with this dog? Poor Chloe! What a nice weekend and bonus that all your chicks are in the nest or close to the nest!
ReplyDeleteIt's so funny to hear him talk! Stella keeps staring at him like she's wondering what in the world is wrong with him. 🤣 Poor Chloe! She's so pitiful and may have to go back to the vet today. It's so good to have them all close by!
DeleteI love the sound of comfy day at your school and how lovely to get all of the gifts. It sounds like a lovely end to school.
ReplyDeleteAww! Poor Chloe, I hope her paw is better soon. Bless her!
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
