Hello Monday (1.12.2026.)

Happy Monday, friends! I hope you had a great weekend! I can't wait to hear from you at the end of today's post. I'm linking up with Holly and Sarah for today's blog post. I'll jump right in!

This was me ready to fully weekend on Friday! Unfortunately, it got off to a different start than I'd hoped, but it all turned out for the better. I decided to stay in town on Friday night because of the fact that I'd been sick; to avoid staring at the same four walls I'd been looking at all week, I went to grab my dinner and then took it over to Marilyn's house. We watched this movie together:

I remember reading this book; I didn't love it, and thought it was mediocre. I have a love/hate relationship with Emily Henry; the movie, though? It was amazing! I loved the acting, the locations, the banter...we laughed and we cried. I highly recommend it, needless to say.

This was us kicked back on the giant sofa watching it together. I came home when my need for medicine kicked in; I took some nighttime cough syrup and hit the bed. I slept in until close to eight on Saturday morning; I made coffee, took more medicine, and settled in to writing a spontaneous blog post while I rewatched the same movie.

Do you do that? Rewatch something you've watched recently?

It was a lovely, cozy, leisurely morning at home that I needed.

I finally got dressed for the day around eleven; in between the morning and getting dressed, I caught up on things at home that always get out of hand: mail, cleaning, laundry, vacuuming. I loved having the time to do this all at once! I even took it upstairs and cleaned my bathroom. Marilyn came over and we decided it would be fun to run errands together; it was!

I don't want to talk about how long it took to get my drink that you see pictured, but that's besides the point. 🤣 I was back home around three or so, and I scored some cute things from Hobby Lobby!

I wasn't looking for new lamps for my bedroom, but I bought two new lamps for my bedroom. I love them! I also bought that cute little red bow vase that I stuck some flowers into, and the pink bow garland for my mantel. I changed out the things on top of it as well, to make it match more. I had something else up there that didn't quite go with the rest of the room, and these days I'm definitely leaning more towards light and bright. Also, this is your friendly reminder that you can find adorable screensavers for your tv on YouTube! Just type in something like, "Valentine's day framed art" and see what pops up. I loved this one!

Chris (and his baby dog, Reese) came over that afternoon; we did a few things around town that he needed to do, then we ate dinner together at my favorite Mexican restaurant before ending up here again to watch the worst movie of all time. (I'm not even telling you about it, it was that bad.) Sunday was church, then lunch afterward, then back home for an epic nap in my bed. It was glorious!

It was a great weekend. I loved every part of it, honestly. I feel like it was a perfect blend of rest and relaxation, productivity, and fun. I loved spending time with Marilyn and Kendra, and I loved the time Chris and I had together. I feel ready to tackle this week that is in front of me! I'm glad I had all the extra time to rest and I'm sure that's what is making me feel refreshed and ready for a new great week at work.

What did you do that you loved this weekend? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for reading my blog today, friends. Don't forget that I shared a bonus post on Saturday, so check it out after this one if you have some spare time! Love to all.

Jenn ❤️🩷

  1. That's a really cute little dog, with her small size she doesn't look to be too much trouble. I took an epic nap on my lawn chair, since we're having an awesome early spring here.

  2. I love all of your Valentine´s Day stuff- that red sweater, especially with the jeans and shoes is so cute! And I love your new decor. That garland is darling as is the vase- I think I have an errand to run in my near future :). I saw an advertisement for that movie during a football game- the woman was suggesting casual intimate relations with a guy she didn´t seem to know well at all and/or he had a gf or something? It was so off putting to me! Maybe it was an advertisement for a different movie? I don´t rewatch movies! I have probably rewatched a total of less than ten movies. I think I´m the odd one for that statistic!! Glad you got to spend time with Mare! Have a great Monday!

    1. You should definitely make a Hobby Lobby run in the future! Thanks for that, friend. I love a themed outfit, and tis the season for all my pink and red. I love the new red shirt I bought from Walmart, though...it was a great price! I feel like that might have been a different movie that you saw advertised. This one was so cute! I hope you have a great day!

  7. I think I am going to have to give that movie a watch, I've seen it mentioned a few times today. Yep, if I enjoyed something I will rewatch it. It sounds like you had a lovely morning at home. Your home is looking so cute! I love the pink bows on the fireplace and your bed looks so cosy!

  8. I watched that movie this weekend too and thought it was really cute. I will re-watch things I've already seen but usually not right away. I LOVE those new lamps/shades. They're so pretty.

  9. Oh my —you had to have those lamps! Please say a prayer for my niece in Minneapolis. My brother and SIL adopted a daughter from Korea and she is terrified of the ICE agents in their city. Minneapolis ISD is offering virtual learning because families are afraid to take their children to school. Not to start a political disagreement, but the story in the city is much different than what Trump and Noem are saying.

  10. I cannot for the life of me remember if I read that book- I really think I did, but I can't find it on my Kindle or a hard copy😂 But, I do want to watch the movie! I also like to watch a movie again right after I have just seen it.

  13. I have a love/hate relationship with Emily Henry, too, but this was one of her books that I actually loved. Isn't that so funny!! I can't wait to watch the movie. It looks so good! I already commented on Marilyn's blog about y'all getting together, but I wanted to say it here, too - your friendship is just the best! What a blessing to have each other. <3
