Spring Break recap...Colorado trip 2026

Happy Tuesday, friends! I missed all of you since I didn't post again after the Hodgepodge last week; I hope all of you had a great weekend and that your week got off to a great start!

I thought I'd share about my spring break trip to Colorado last week. This was a very different trip from the ones I usually take, and it took me a hot minute to get over that, if I'm being honest. I'm used to going more, but this trip was all about slowing down and helping my sisters get ready for a baby shower for my niece Erika. Mom was with us as well, so we took that into consideration, and didn't do quite as much as what we usually do. It was a great trip, though, and I'm glad we could all be there for Erika for her shower. I'm going to share some pictures and then put captions underneath each one.

We arrived just in time to see a spectacular sunset! This picture doesn't do it justice, but it was just beginning its descent as I sat on the plane at Denver International. Debi picked us up, and an hour later, we were at her house, and I was...

...cuddled up with Cowboy. I love this beautiful Golden so much!

I was up early for the sunrise!

We went to breakfast and met up with Lisa, my nephew Jaret, my niece Erika, and her four girls Kinsley, Kylie, Madi, and Macy.

One of the littles was distracted by the bug she was watching. Ha! After our brunch, we all went to shop for my little greats. They needed shoes and clothes, so it was fun to help Erika do that. She's kind of miserable at this stage of being pregnant, so it was all hands on deck. I might have bought a few tops from Old Navy as well....

That night we had dinner at Lisa's house. She catered really good BBQ for us, and I spent nights two and three with her.

On Friday we stayed home to food prep for the shower! We eventually met up with Erika and her girls and went to get frozen yogurt before heading to Debi's for dinner.

That night sky is gorgeous at Debi's house! I could see stars for miles. I love this pic of all the family gathered at her house for dinner. I love family time! Saturday was all about the baby shower!

The giant bow over the fireplace was made by my sister Lisa. She was inspired by something John Mark Sharpe (of JME) made a few weeks ago.

I love my sisters so much!

The shower was amazing! There was a great turnout, and I think she got everything on her list. Isn't she beautiful?! We all crashed after this and changed clothes; a few hours later, we got dressed and left to go take some pictures...

...of Erika for some maternity shots. While I was there, I got some pictures of the beautiful landscape. This is my sister's neighborhood in Littleton. I love all that red rock!

And just like that, it was Sunday and it was time for us to leave on a jet plane! I've never boarded the plane from outside before; this was interesting. It was a great trip; I'm so glad we were all able to be there for Erika! Trish and I are already talking about and looking forward to our return trip this summer; we're aiming to go again in July, and we'll be able to meet Ella Blake after her arrival.

Thanks for reading my blog today, friends! Love to all.

  2. The shower looked absolutely lovely! It sounds like you had a lovely trip to see you sisters and family even if it was a bit quieter than usual.

  3. Everything looked so nice! Colorado is a stunning state and it looks like your family lives in a gorgeous part of it (though I'm pretty sure the entire state is beautiful!). Every detail for the shower turned out so pretty- from the decor to the food to the ladies hosting and the mama to be. Your family is beautiful on the outside and inside (not that I know your family but based on everything you've said about them, they are beautiful souls just like you :)). I'm sure you were blessed by spending time with your family but I'm also sure you were a blessing to your niece and aunt whom you helped so much with the shower. Have a great Tuesday!

  5. I love all the family photos you got! The details for the shower are just precious! That's a lot of work, I know! I want to hear about your Old Navy purchases. Did you get the pink stripe? There is a green version, too. I saw a girl wearing it and was like "I should have gotten it" but I feel like I have too many striped button ups.
Erika is so gorgeous but I can imagine she is done done. It will be a piece of cake to just have one baby this time!
