interests, aesthetics, and things I love (according to Pinterest)

Happy Tuesday, friends! I am taking a cue from Jen over at Show Me and Sweet Tea, and I'm talking all things Pinterest today. I love being inspired by other bloggers, and she never fails to provide me with some inspiration for my own blog. I highly encourage you swing over to her blog and check her posts out!

When I typed the word "interests" into the search bar on Pinterest, a few things came up that I thought were worthy of sharing. Just click on the image and you'll be taken to a link in a separate window.

I loved what this article had to say about developing good habits to practice. That would be a better title than the one the author gave it, but I digress. She had some interesting things to say about becoming a captivating person!

I enjoyed reading these ideas of hobbies to choose for yourself. I already have hobbies, but maybe you don't and need some inspiration? A few of my hobbies include reading, writing, sightseeing, photography, and interior design.

I am very interested in encouraging women in their lives, whether in their marriages, or as moms, and this was an excellent article on how a wise woman can build her home. It's not what you think, and if you have some time on your hands today, all of these blog posts offer wisdom and are informative reads.

When I typed in the word "aesthetic" into Pinterest, this was the first thing that popped up! I couldn't love this any more.

This was the second thing that popped up that fit me perfectly!

I don't agree with all of the author's ideas, but I do implement some of what she suggests on cozying up a space.

Lastly, this is what came up next.

I have never had a "vision board" before, but I know people who do this. They don't make it weird or unhealthy, they just set it up as a way to meet goals for a season or for a year. I have one friend in particular that I'm thinking about, and I always love when she shares it with us on social media. I think it's just fun to be inspired, any way you look at it. That type of thing works for her, and she keeps it in her office to remind herself daily to work toward her goals.

Here are some things that I love to use Pinterest for.

I love using it for nail inspiration! I don't like to get the same color over and over again, so I put this search bar to good use once a month for nail ideas.

Most of you know how much I love to change my phone's wallpaper and lock screen; I get them all from Pinterest!

I love getting outfit inspiration from Pinterest! You can type in exactly what you're looking for in the search bar, and prepare to be amazed at all the ideas they'll throw your way.

I am always looking for hair ideas on Pinterest. Do you do this?

And I love to use Pinterest for things like this: how to declutter your home.

I was looking back at old blog posts as I was writing this one for today, and it turns out I've been using Pinterest for a long time! Some of my posts from 2012 were images that I shared from there, and I mentioned how I loved using it for recipes. And I still use it for that same thing today! What kinds of things do you love about Pinterest? I'd love to hear from you on this, because I love looking for new things there. Thanks for reading my blog today, friends! Love to all.

P.s. I'm linking up with Joanne for Talking About it Tuesday.

  1. I used to spend SO MUCH TIME on Pinterest! Like, too much time. I cut back my time to zero! I know that I would like it again if I got on it but I have decided to not get on it!! I found some good blogs in my day because of it and of course found lots of recipes, craft projects, etc. It sounds like you have found some great articles and things you enjoy looking at. Have a great Tuesday!

  2. Maria, I totally get that. It can definitely be a time sucker! I try to only get onto it from my laptop to cut back my time spent there. I've also tried to cut back on social media lately, spending that time reading instead. I do like using it for good things, though! Thanks, my friend, I hope your day is good as well!

  3. I definitely look for hair, nail, and outfit ideas as well as recipes, crafts, and card making ideas. Pinterest is also my "go to" when I'm vacation planning. Once I narrow down where we're going I search for the town/area and lots of great travel tips, restaurant suggestions, etc.

  4. I haven't been on Pinterest for such a long time. I thought it was a great place to group items I loved so I could get a big picture of my "style". I also ran across a lot of great recipes and decor ideas. I'm intrigued about the hobbies ideas - I probably should find one to channel my free time into!

  5. I rarely use Pinterest...it's too easy for me to get lost there and spend hours.

  7. I think Pinterest is such a great place to get ideas of all sorts! I like seeing birthday cake ideas, recipes, and travel posts. I tend to share a lot of memory-keeping and photo preservation (and organization) ideas there from my blog. I think Pinterest is a great platform for both sharing and saving. Visiting from the Talking About it Tuesday linkup.

  10. Gina, you are right; it's so easy to spend too much time there! It is a great place for ideas, though. If you were being serious, you should look for a new hobby! I thought that was a smart idea!

  13. Jennifer, thanks for stopping by to visit! I agree wholeheartedly; I actually use it for so many other things I forgot to even mention today. It's probably my second favorite online platform, with blogging being first.
