Start by deciding the final aspect ratio before choosing a layout, since square, portrait and landscape grids need different spacing. Keep gutters consistent, around 2-4% of the canvas width, so the collage looks balanced. Align images to a shared grid rather than eyeballing. Export at the largest dimensions the tool allows, ideally 3000px on the long edge, and check the file size. Avoid heavy filters that hide seams.
