the Wednesday hodgepodge

Happy Wednesday, friends! I'm here with Joyce again today for the weekly hodgepodge...this is a post that I dearly love; thank you, Joyce, for your inspiring and thought provoking questions each and every week! I'll jump right in.

1. Are you a risk taker? To what degree? I used to think I wasn't a big risk taker. After this new phase of my life started, I would say that's not true anymore. I feel like sometimes that everyday is a risk. Whether with a relationship or with anything else in life, I think that risks come our way everyday. Or at least they come my way. I'm in a relationship; that seems like a big risk to me, because of my past. It's worth it, but it's a big risk to open my heart back up again.

2. What's your favorite candy? Would you say you have a sweet tooth? My favorite candy is a Twix candy bar, but I don't have much of a sweet tooth. I'll take savory and anything bread related anyday.

3. Somewhere you've been lately that had you feeling like "a kid in a candy store"? Maine. Maine had me feeling like a kid in a candy store. It was such an amazing trip, and I felt like I was in Heaven all week long.

I want to live there, friends!

4. What do you think is the most effective way to make a positive change in the world? I think the most effective way to make a positive change in the world is to love the people around us. I am not claiming to have arrived at this place, but I try my very hardest. My job is a great place for me to do this each day. I'm so grateful that I have the job I do!

5. Do you like surprises? I love surprises. I will always try to not ruin them.

6. Insert your own random thought here. I love this song! I had forgotten about it and came across it again the other day. It's called Bones, but it's the wedding version.

I'm in a sappy phase of life, friends. What can I say?

I can't wait to read your answers to these prompts, friends! Thanks for reading my blog today, friends. Love to all!

  1. I can see how risk taking would likely change after your divorce. If you want to be with someone again, you'd have to take risks. I used to love Twix candy bars but I think that they, along with many candy, have been changed to use less chocolate so the company making them makes more $$. There's such a tiny thin layer of chocolate now. It's easier for me to pass on, that's for sure. I loved being in Maine but we were there in the summer. I would not want to live up there in the winter with how cold and snowy it is. I would like to visit it in the fall like you did :). Have a great day!

    1. I haven't really noticed that, honestly. I guess I like all the other stuff in there as well, enough so that I didn't notice less chocolate. I'm not sure how I'd feel about the winters either, but I almost feel like the rest of the year would make up for them. I'd be curious to know what it's like!

  2. I just can't believe it's already the last Wednesday of the month and next week will be November! I say that about Maine each time my husband and I head up there... but I'm not sure I'd love their winters.

    1. I know! I can't believe it either. I'm curious to know how I'd feel about them now that you and Maria said the same thing.

  3. I think you are a risk taker! You have had to be, for sure. Twix is so good. I haven't had one in quite a while.

    1. Thanks for that! I have a small one every Friday out of our fun Friday treat bucket. They're the bite sized ones.
