Happy Monday, friends! I hope you had a great weekend! I can't wait to hear from you at the end of today's post. I'm linking up with Holly and Sarah for today's blog post. I'll jump right in!
I started off my Friday by sleeping in late that morning. If you're reading this today, just know that this week is going to kick my butt! I've enjoyed a leisurely life since Friday December 19th, and I anticipate re-entry being hard. I slept in late every single day almost, I didn't wear lipstick, I dressed comfortably every single day, I stayed up late every night, I fully relaxed and even stayed home a ton! I don't regret even one second; well, maybe I regret being sick with a stomach virus, but that's the only thing. That being said, on this particular day, I met up with my mom and sister for lunch and errands. We weren't out long since there was rain headed our way that we didn't want to be out in, but after I parted from them, I went and got my oil changed. I'm excited for this, because it was something I needed desperately; I'm proud of myself for this, because I did something productive over the break.
I drove to Mississippi after this to see Chris, where we spent the rest of the day doing things for him and his house.
Coffee is always inevitable!
How cute is this place?
This weekend was what they call First Monday in Ripley; it's where a bunch of different people have booths to sell everything under the sun from animals and livestock to clothing/shoes. It was cold! We rented a golf cart for it this time around, which we'll do from now on. We had so much, though, and then...
...this happened, and we accidentally got Chris a puppy. She was free! He got her for his dad, because he had been wanting a dog. But then his dad said that he'd changed his mind and so now, it looks Chris has himself a new baby. 🤣 We named her Reese, since she looks like a Reese's peanut butter cup.
And this is all we did for the rest of the weekend! Puppies are a lot of work; I'm glad she doesn't belong to me.
Yesterday was church, and then lunch afterward with Drew and his girlfriend. I came home and took a nap and then got ready for today. Today's an easy day for us, since students won't start until tomorrow. We're doing something fun for them on Tuesday and having a white out day for the staff, in hopes that it'll bring us some snow! This should be fun to surprise them with, and hopefully it'll ease them into the day and week with a smile on their faces.
What'd you do this weekend that you loved? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for reading my blog today, friends. Love to all!
Jenn

Aw, look at that cute face?! Who could say no to that adorable sad puppy face.
ReplyDeleteIsn't she a doll? That's how he felt, apparently.
DeleteThis week is going to kick my butt too. You mean I have to get dressed? Wake up before 8? Eat more than just cheese and chocolate for meals? Solidarity friend. We can do this!
ReplyDeleteI know! Solidarity. Here's to not hating having to put on real pants for work this week. Ha!
DeleteSo glad you to rest! Sounds like such a blissful break and that puppy is darling!
ReplyDeleteThanks, friend! It was wonderful. Isn't she precious?!
DeleteReese is super cute. Wonderful that she's got a great home.
ReplyDeleteShe really is!
DeleteWho can resist a puppy??? I hope he settles in well and is a good dog for you and Chris. Sounds like you had a wonderful break with lots of down time. Hope re-entry is gentle!
ReplyDeleteI know, right? I hope the same. Thank you, Joyce!
DeleteReese is adorable! I hope she (he?) doesn´t cause too much disruption to Chris´ days and night!! It sounds like a nice break with plenty of relaxing and spending time with those you love. Can´t ask for more than that :).
ReplyDeleteIsn't she? It was a wonderful break, but I'm ready to be back at my normal routine. I also missed my co-workers and will be happy to see them all! I hope you have a great day as well, my friend. Are you back at work as a regular sub now, or are you still doing the perm sub job?
DeleteReese is so cute but I am thinking "what have you done?" for Chris' sake! That "swap meet" via golf cart looks like redneck fun! Lol! I say redneck with love bc my husband is part redneck.
ReplyDeleteThat white out sounds like fun! The kids will be so happy to see you!
Right?! I am thinking the same thing for him. Ha! It was such a redneck thing, but it was so much fun! I'll be glad to see them tomorrow.
DeleteJenn, it sounds like you had such a great few weeks! And when I saw that puppy I thought you had lost your mind! :) But the puppy looks like he found his human and that is so sweet. I hope you have a great week at school. I know the kids will be excited to see you again.
ReplyDeleteIt has been, but I totally get that sentiment! She really is a sweet puppy...but I'm really glad she's not mine. Thanks for that, friend! I hope you enjoy your week as well.
DeleteAhh! I am with you, this week is not going to be fun at all. Early mornings and reality kicking my backside. Ugh!
ReplyDeleteThat coffeeshop is so cute and it looks like you had a great time with Chris, renting the golf cart was a fantastic idea! Aww to the puppy, she does look like a Reese's peanut butter cup! Adorable!
I know! It's rough waking back up with an alarm clock. Ha! Isn't that a cute place? I hope you have a great week!
DeleteWhat a sweet puppy! You are so right though that puppies are a lot of work! Hope you have a great start to the week.
ReplyDeleteShe really is! Thanks for that, friend. I hope the same for you!
