Happy Monday, friends! I hope you had a great weekend! I can't wait to hear from you at the end of today's post. I'm linking up with Holly and Sarah for today's blog post. I'll jump right in!
I love it when our Fridays are a comfy/cozy day at work! This one was only for the staff since parent/teacher conferences had happened the night before. I dressed in this: leggings and a loose fitting thin black hoodie with pink sneakers. I like how it looked first starting off, but by the end of the day, I hated my shirt. It kept growing throughout the day, so I'll never wear it outside of the house again. It's great for a night in, but not for public. The sad thing is that I knew this, but had forgotten. Does this ever happen to you or am I the only one?
I was so tired after work! I felt like a hit a brick wall by two o'clock that afternoon at work, so I came home and took a nap. Chris met me here after work, and we ended up having a later dinner because of this. We went to one of our favorite places, Bangkok Alley. It was delicious! We came to my house after dinner and watched Ted Lasso before calling it a night.
I love that at this point in our relationship I can be fully myself without him caring. If anything, I think he likes me more at my natural state than fully dressed/made up. We ended up spending part of the day running errands after this. Both of us had a few things to buy and do to get ready for the work week, but we weren't out that long. The last place we stopped was for him to get a hair cut; I love how it turned out!
The place he likes to go is right on the town square; it's this tiny building that is fixed up really cute by the owners. I loved all the lanterns hanging from the ceiling!
I love his smile so much.
He was totally checking his hair out in my phone, and I love that I have these pictures. He's so handsome to me, and I love all his gray, even though he's self conscious about it since he's only 42. Have I ever mentioned that he's younger than me? I'm 49.
For the rest of the afternoon, I worked on laundry and went back and forth from chores to sitting beside him on the couch watching the Olympics. Jonah came in and out at one point; he bought a topper (he called it a pap cap) for the bed of his truck that day. He and his friend drove to Athens, Alabama to pick this up; by the time he'd washed the road off his truck that afternoon, Jonah had it listed and sold on Facebook marketplace. He said it had paint bubbles that drove him insane; as crazy as this sounds to you and to me, he made a hefty profit off this thing and was glad about the decision he made. He does this kind of thing all the time with parts and tires/wheels. He's got a good little side hustle in this kind of business! It always makes me laugh.
Chris and I met my sister Trish for dinner. We went to my favorite place (Skybox), and then Trish and I went downtown to see The Sound of Music that was playing at The Orpheum. It was amazing!
It was such a fun night! I know my dad would have loved seeing this on Broadway, he loved the movie so much. So did Trish and I, for that matter, and we both sung along all night. I knew so many of the songs word verbatim and was reminded once again of why I can never remember my passwords: it's because of the useless knowledge I have taking up my brain space! I loved everything about our night, and a sister date was way past due for us. We got home late and pretty much went straight to bed.
It was a late night! Trish spent the night with me and then I was up at my church by eight for praise team rehearsal. Chris and I met Jonah, Drew and Mallory for lunch after church at our favorite local pizza place. It was good to be with all of them! I spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning and getting ready for the week before leaving to get a car wash and gas in my car. I went to Marilyn's house for dinner; she made the best chicken enchiladas!
She even sent me one home for lunch today! I love this woman.
How was your weekend? Did you do anything that you loved? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for reading my blog today, friends. Love to all!
P.s. Just a reminder that Saturday is February 28th, and will be time for Share 4 Somethings. I hope you make plans now to join me then! Love to all!

My husband is almost ten years younger than me. It’s really not about age! And also, I miss going to musicals. They’re so fun!
ReplyDeleteIt's really not a big deal at all, right? When I was dating, I quickly discovered that I prefer younger men, since the ones that were my age or older acted like old men. I wanted someone young and who wanted to do things that were fun together. I can't just stay at home all the time!
DeleteWhat a nice and full weekend! Sorry about the shirt. That an ruin a day!
ReplyDeleteI'm rewatching Younger and Sound of Music is part of the last couple of episodes I've watched. What a nice memory of your Dad and so fun to do with your sister. 5 day week? I think this one will go faster!
It was a great weekend! It really can ruin a day. I was so uncomfortable all day! I'm looking forward to dressing in what I know I will love today. I love that show so much! I love that she and I did this together. I think it will go fast this week!
DeleteI love that Chris will pose for your pictures. So cute! The Sound of Music is my favorite and I never get tired of watching it. I think once we hit 40 age is a blurry thing and I love hanging with people both older and younger than me. Seems like it's not an issue for you both so not a big deal. Have a nice week!
ReplyDeleteI do too! It's a new thing for me, and I think it's adorable. I love that movie so much! I agree about the age, and I feel the exact same. Thank you! I hope you do the same.
DeleteThat was a great weekend! I hate when a piece of clothing doesn't cooperate all day. I usually put it in the donate pile immediately. Sister time is always fun! Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteIt was! I love the idea of putting a clothing item on probation like you do. I'm going to start with this one! It is always fun to be with sisters!
DeleteI do like the sound of the comfy/cosy day at school!
ReplyDeleteThat is good that you can totally be yourself around Chris and his hair looks great! I think it's the first time I've seen him without a baseball cap. I didn't realise you were 49. I thought you were a few years younger at least.
Jonah reminds me of my brother, buying something for his cars and then selling it on when he doesn't like it.
I love The Sound of Music, it sounds like a fantastic evening!
Thank you for all of this, friend! It was such a great show. I love that your brother does this as well!
DeleteYou've got your cougar on! I love it. I am older than Donnie. Chris' haircut does look nice- it looks like everything went well over the weekend. The musical sounds like such a fun thing to do with your sister especially since your dad loved musicals. How fun to get to see Marilyn, too!
ReplyDeleteThat made me laugh! Thanks for that, I love it too. It was such a fun thing to do with Trish! And any Marilyn time is a great time. I love sharing meals together!
DeleteWow, I didn't know you are dating a younger man. ;) You look so happy. I'm excited because Sound of Music is coming to our Houston Broadway series in September. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteRight? Thanks, friend. I am! You will love it so much!
DeleteSo glad you came for dinner!
ReplyDeleteIt was so good! I always love it when we get to catch up!
DeleteLooks like a fun weekend! You and Chris are too cute together! It sounds like you and your sister had a fun night- having a sister is the best, right??!
ReplyDeleteThanks, friend! Having a sister is the very best. I'm so grateful for all of mine!
DeleteI know exactly what you mean about how uncomfortable it is when clothes grow. I had a pair of cotton pants in the 90s that did that. By the end of the workday my legs looked like elephant legs, and let’s not even talk about the backside. I love The Sound of Music and know the songs and dialogue off by heart. And no, I can’t remember passwords either! Haha.
ReplyDeleteIt's the worst when something grows like that. That made me chuckle! I'm so glad I'm not the only one who does that. Ha!
DeleteOh I love the Sound of Music too! I bet that was so much fun!
