Friday Favorites, 9.6.2024

Happy Friday, friends! I'm linking up with Andrea and Erika for today's blog post. How has your week been? I can't wait for the day when I can say that I've had a great week, but for now, that's just not happening at the moment. I'm hopeful it'll come soon, though!

That being said, being here brings me joy, and for that I am thankful. I do have some favorites from the week that I wanted to share!

I have mentioned this candle once already this week as a favorite, but it's worth repeating. The smell is divine! There are certain things that very comforting to me: the way my home looks and whether or not it clean and cozy feeling, textures, and good smelling things. This candle definitely delivers!

My fall decorations are my favorite! I love things that have a bit of whimsy added in, and this little owl is just one small thing I have that fits that bill.

Chloe snuggles have been my favorite this week!

Lysa TerKeurst's ministry is one of my favorite things right now. I have read a couple of her books recently, and I appreciate her encouragement to women on social media. Are you familiar with her story? That's the same path I'm currently walking on.

My sweet friend Barbara gave me this little devotional book at church on Wednesday night, and it was so thoughtful of her! Thoughtfulness is one of my favorite attributes. I needed the devotion about being controlled by anger yesterday.

A few other favorites from the week are:

  • binge watching the show I stopped a couple of years ago and getting sucked back in
  • the laughter I had throughout the week
  • puppy loves
  • tropical Skittle flavored water

What were some of your favorites this week? I'd love to hear from you! I hope you enjoy your weekend, friends. Thanks for reading my blog today! Love to all.

Jenn 🖤

  1. That devotional is cute.I love it when an item is pretty and soul uplifting as well! I think that is why God gave some people artistic talent- for beauty of a thing to item to match the beauty of truth (I am not saying the cover of the devotional is art but hopefully you know what I mean!). It was nice of your friend to give it to you. Friendship is a gift and it sounds like in this season especially, friends have been such a gift to you. I hope you have a weekend filled with beauty and friendship :)

    1. I love what you said about the beauty of art matching that of His truth; I've never thought about it like that, but it makes sense! I wouldn't be able to stand without my friends right now; they have all been there in such tangible ways for me lately. I could never repay them, except to just be a good friend in return to them. I hope you have a good weekend!

    1. Sometimes it doesn't feel like it! I need to get back into counseling as soon as possible and need to call this morning. I'm living for all the little things in life right now! Candles, book club dinners, etc. are things that are all life giving to me at this moment! Safe travels to you and Brooke! I'll be thinking about you and praying for you this weekend.

    1. I agree! They're the very best, and Chloe in particular has been my personal emotional support dog. I was crying last night and she literally got into my lap and hugged me. It was the sweetest thing!

  6. I'm new to your blog- clicked over from link. If you feel like sharing I am curious what you are struggling with right now- if not I understand
I'm dealing with grief after the loss of a family member right now and appreciate supportive blogs like this one to help me take things one day at a time
I keep looking for little bright spots in the day to remind myself healing is a process and there can still be happy times ahead

    1. I'm so glad you stopped by! I haven't really talked about it here on my blog yet, but additionally to my private matter, my dad died this summer. I know how you feel and am so sorry for your loss! I have found one small step forward at a time is what is keeping me afloat, well that and Jesus. It's mainly the Lord that is helping and strengthening me! I hope you keep coming around!

  7. I'm so sorry for this hard time you're going through. I know God will bring you through it and I know you know that too. But sometimes it's good to be reminded (at least it is for me). I'm so glad you are still looking for the good things each day. And Chloe appears to be a special blessing for you. I still pray for you and your boys when God reminds me.

    1. She really is! She's also still a punk, but her cuteness and sweetness mostly cancels that out. I hope you enjoy your weekend!

  11. I loovvve your fireplace and how you decorate it... your sweet puppy is precious.. dogs are the best (in my opinion). I am familar with Lysa Turkest and her story. I love how she always points to Jesus through it all. Good, bad and ugly. I see that in you. Every time I come to this page, you are pointing to Jesus. It is encouraging and refreshing to see. I am sad for you that things are hard and tough at this moment. I will be praying for you to continue to seek out Jesus, to feel His comfort and to have Healing!
