Happy Friday, friends! I hope you've had a great week; mine has been good with one questionable day in the middle. Thankfully Wednesday ended better than it started, which I am grateful for. On that note, and since this post is all about favorites, did you know that singing can actually boost your morale? I would guess that listening to music that you love would do the same; on that night I went to choir practice and walked out at the end with a huge smile on my face. This was our last practice until August, which makes me kind of sad and means I'll have to find something new to do on Wednesday nights since we won't meet on that night in June and it will be the end of my job.
Alright, onto some favorites from this week!

This is such a true statement!
favorite moments
Marilyn had her final private dance lesson this week, and I got to see her "recital". I'm so glad she asked me to come to this; seeing her do something she loves so much brought a huge smile to my face, and she's a beautifully graceful dancer! I took videos of her dancing with her instructor Dennis, and enjoyed every second of the 45 minutes that we were at the studio. Afterward we went to eat frozen yogurt!
Other favorite moments from the week include the following:
- seeing my stepdad at work yesterday morning while he waited on Mom to finish her hair appt
- the onboarding process I had to go through yesterday for my new job
- attending the ribbon cutting ceremony for the school I'll be working at
- seeing old friends on that same afternoon and being made to feel welcomed
- work moments with work besties
- keeping all the baby dogs this weekend (I have my Crash and Oakley at home)
- building excitement over the weekend and its possibilities
I am the same way with clothes; in fact I couldn't wear the outfit I wore to my grandmother's funeral again afterwards. It made me so sad. How special to get to see Marilyn's recital!
ReplyDeleteI think that most people are more like you and couldn't wear the clothing item again. I don't have that many clothes to choose from, so I keep wearing the ones I've been wearing. It was such a sweet moment! I was smiling so big the entire time.
DeleteBoth of those quotes are so good! Thanks again for coming to watch me dance. Enjoy your Friday friend!
ReplyDeleteAren't they?! I felt like a proud parent!
DeleteI am definitely that way with clothes. I have a dress that I haven't worn since my brother's funeral. It makes me sad AND I was probably ten pounds lighter so it wouldn't fit the same but I don't think I'd wear it even if my weight was the same. It sounds like it was a pretty good week with plenty of fun moments/activities. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI totally get that! It was a great week overall. I'm looking forward to the weekend! Happy Friday to you, my friend! I hope it's a great one.
DeleteThat quote that your therapist told you is so powerful. I do think some people don't accept joy into their life but you aren't one of them. The therapy worked! What a nice week! Sorry about the questionable start to one of the days but maybe without those we wouldn't appreciate the other days?
ReplyDeleteI loved that quote! I do think that I tried my best to embrace the moments of joy that came my way; I don't always succeed, but I try everyday to do this and on the days I can't, I just get quiet and pray a lot. It helps tremendously! I think you're right about appreciating the good because of the bad. Perspective is everything!
DeleteOh that quote really resonates as far as prepping yourself to be able to feel JOY- wow- powerful- love you supporting your friend like that- what a special friendship- have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteIsn't that amazing? It spoke volumes to me! I loved getting to support her in her most recent hobby and smiled like a proud parent the entire time. You should see her beautiful face when she does this! It brings her so much joy, and that is fun to watch.
