weekly happies

Happy Thursday, friends! I'm here this week with another list of my weekly happies. I hope you enjoy and are inspired to start your own list!

  • finally seeing students after too many days of meetings
  • being a morning greeter in the hallway at school and being on the receiving end of hugs and smiles
  • swimming/hot tubbing after a long day of work
  • Chris finally starting to feel better
  • easy dresses that are cool on the hot days
  • being able to talk/vent with Chris about things that feel hard when I'm struggling
  • the gift of laughter
  • sweet times of prayer over my day and that of the people I love
  • the prospect of something to look forward to
  • dinner out/simple dinners at home
  • family dinner night
  • my sweet little M at school, and hearing her tell me she loves me
  • celebrating a one year anniversary with Chris on Wednesday
  • falling to sleep easily once my head hits the pillow

I'm so tired, y'all. I can't even pull it together enough to add pics for this post, but I will let it ride as it is. What are a few of your happies from the week? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for reading today, friends. I'll see you here tomorrow, limping to the finish line that I'll be looking forward to! Love to all.

  1. "Ain't no tired like beginning of year teacher tired" - We understand! I bet today will be better - tired-wise. The adrenaline and anticipation of that first day is something else! Wonderful happies this week!

  3. It sounds like the return to school has gone well and I am glad Chris is starting to feel better. You have a lot to be grateful for. I am happy that I am starting to feel better after this rotten cold.

  4. Oh I am right there with you on the tiredness (for entirely different reasons of course!)... but I did finally sleep mostly through the night last night. I think writing down all the millions of questions that have been circling around and around in my brain helped a lot. I don't have any answers for them but knowing they are written down helped me put them aside. An inadvertent happy this week is talking with my sister on the phone pretty much every day and reconnecting with my aunt whom I haven't seen or talked to in years ever since my grandmother died.

    1. I know you get this better than anyone, my friend. I'm glad you were able to get some much needed rest last night! I love how you're looking for the bright spots along the way this week; those will keep you going. I'm still praying for all of you.
