weekending

Happy Monday, friends! How was your weekend? I hope you can say that it was good! Mine was...here are a few things I did to occupy my time.

I took it easy on Friday morning and did some things around my house, and was kind of lazy. It was nice! But I had errands to run that day...big ones that involved me going into the downtown area of Memphis...and Mom went with me. We started with sushi for lunch. It was delicious!

I made her pose for my picture on the courthouse steps. Life is short; take the pictures!

It was such a beautiful day, and I was glad that she was willing to go with me. I came home for a very short while and cleaned the gutters along the front of my house, and then a spider fell on me, so I had to burn change my clothes before leaving again. I met up with J for a couple of hours, and then I went to dinner with Marilyn and another friend named Stephanie.

We had such a good dinner! After dinner, Mar and I sat in my car to catch up and then we drove around for a little bit. We proceeded to laugh ourselves silly once again at some inside jokes, and then we parted ways. I went to bed pretty early that night. On Saturday I spent some time doing a few much-needed things around my house; I did laundry, I cleaned/vacuumed, I cleaned out my refrigerator, and then I went to hang out with J again. We spent the day on the road going all over the city, and then we ended with dinner.

This was our ride! He has a '91 Astro van that is lowered. We got some looks in this thing, and I laughed every time. It was a fun day! After dinner we went back to his house and watched the newest Marvel movie, and I fell asleep while watching. I have an issue with this!

I was up early on Sunday, and saw this on IG that I liked.

It just kind of stood out to me, honestly. I've had a lot of criticism in my life lately.

Sundays come early after Saturday nights out! I did not want to leave at the time I left for church/work yesterday, but I survived. I came home after church and had lunch and then did some work for my blog this week. I watched several episodes of the show Sirens I've been watching on Netflix, and it was an easy day. It was nice!

Did you do anything fun this weekend? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for reading my blog today, friends. Love to all!

  1. We had a pretty quiet weekend but it was nice. I even took a nap on Saturday and I never do that but it rained off and on all day so it was perfect napping weather.

    1. Thanks, friend! I walk around with a goofy smile on my face all the time because of him. He's really sweet...and is always open to watching movies/shows that I want to watch. I'm not used to that! 🤣

  4. Looks like a nice weekend with productivity and plenty of time spent with those who care about you a lot from Marilyn to J. I think the van looks fairly normal?? What am I missing, lol? Have a great Monday!

    1. It was good! It does look pretty normal, but it's also customized and sits really low. You just don't see them all that often anymore! I hope your day is good!

  5. I have the same issue with movies. My hubs often asks what movie do I want to sleep through when we're trying to decide what to watch. Sounds like you had a nice weekend. Critics abound in 2025. I'm glad you have a good network of friends and family around you. Happy Monday!

  7. your Mom is beautiful! she's wearing my fave color too! You're seeing a lot of "J"-I think it's wonderful, but that van?! LOL-that's definitely unusual! that quote on being " a lot" resonated with me...I'm definitely "a lot", but I take it as a compliment. I used to apologize for it, but no more. That's who God made me and I take pride in being "a lot"! Have a great week!

    1. I'm a lot at times too, but there are times if I see that I'm in the wrong then an apology would be in order. Otherwise one takes the risk of scaring everyone off and spending an unusual amount of time alone, which can be a drag.

    2. Amber- thank you! I think she is so beautiful and hope to look half as great at her age someday. She's amazing! I love what you said about taking those things as compliments; that's how I took this as well. I'm a lot at all times, and while I may not be everyone's cup of tea, I am for someone! I enjoy seeing and spending time with J...it's fun to have someone like that to do things with. I love his van! It was a fun afternoon driving all over the city in it, even if it was a rough ride at times. You would have died over it- there's a wiring issue, so every time he uses a blinker, the windshield wipes turn on. It's hilarious and I spent much of the afternoon laughing over it all!

    3. Anonymous- I totally get how too much of a particular thing could be bad. That's hard!

  8. Great looking van. Your boyfriend is pretty smart to keep the relic in running order, the older models from the seventies to early nineties are made with minimal electronics and no computer, so they are EMP attack proof. In the event of a high altitude nuclear detonation, the pulse will fry all new vehicles, computers, electronics and these older cars will be the only ones functional. Same with a solar flare like the Carrington Event that happened close to the turn of the century and fried all telegraph wires and primitive technology of the day.
