Tuesday Talk--inspired writing (the French way of life)

Happy Tuesday, friends! I'm doing something a little different today and will be sharing little things I do to make my life more joyful. I'm always on the hunt for things that make me smile; are you this way? I hope you enjoy today's post!

A few things I love to do to enjoy life to the fullest

  • include green in my home decor
  • show the best version of myself, without trying to be "too" put together
  • set a beautiful table for dinner, even if dining alone
  • dress well, even on days when home
  • choose experiences over things
  • tidy and simplify my home
  • care for the skin God gave me
  • try not to rush through life
  • be a lady of feminine charm
  • be a great listener; don't talk too much
  • add fun & quirky trends to my style (bright colors, red lipstick, a colorful purse strap are some examples of how I like to implement this into my style)
  • entertain friends with a home cooked meal
  • live wealthier than my budget (don't "shop" too much, but instead, "shop" my home or closet)
  • play French music or have instrumental music on quietly in the background when home
  • don't be afraid of standing out in my neighborhood

Why yes, my front door IS bright pink. I am not afraid to stand out in my neighborhood!

  • work to live (show up on time, give it my all, but remembering that I'm replaceable)
  • be selective with my time, money, and energy
  • stop waiting for life to get better; enjoy the beautiful life I have now (fall in love with my life everyday)
  • embrace my quirks and continue to be uniquely me
  • get rid of debt, if at all possible
  • read the books I own
  • wear the clothes hanging in my closet
  • use body lotion everyday to keep my skin soft
  • focus on one small habit a week (examples: reading, writing, cooking, crafting)
  • dump the frump and get dressed everyday
  • wear earrings everyday
  • be organized and decluttered (take care of the paper clutter)
  • redefine my life every once in a while

I don't recommend getting divorced, but I sure have redefined my life in the last year and a half! 🤣

  • know what I look best in, clothing wise, and dress that way all the time
  • go to fun events
  • eliminate toxicity
  • go outside everyday
  • be open to being more visible ("We're not trying to fit in; we're trying to stand out." Fiona Ferris)
  • walk more
  • radiate confidence and look people in the eye as I walk
  • smile often

I love this quote from Coco Chanel: "I don't understand how a woman can leave the house without fixing herself up a little, if only out of politeness. And then, you never know, maybe that's the day she has a date with destiny."

Do any of these stand out to you? What would you add to my list? I'd love to hear your thoughts, so please chime in! Thanks for reading my blog today, friends. Love to all!

This blog post was inspired by the book pictured above. Have you read Fiona Ferris before? I love all of her books and have read most of them.

    1. Yes! I agree. I gave Marilyn one of her books to read over the weekend. I think everyone should read Fiona! Do you know that she has a blog? I read it when she shares. It does show on your blog! I thought of you when I wrote this.

Happy Fri-yay, friends! It's been a week. I feel like all of us who work in school settings deserve a metal for getting to this point....
