Share 4 Somethings, February 2026

Happy Saturday, friends! I'm so glad you're here today; thanks for linking up with me again this month! Today we're here to talk about something we loved, something that sustained us, something we're carrying forward from this month to the next, and something we're making space for. I'll jump right in!

Something I loved: giving my home a little February refresh.

I loved eating ice cream out of this adorable mug!

I loved having a library stack around...even though I didn't really read any of these. Mwah mwah.

Something that sustained me: the promise of spring sustained me this month. I noticed that the sun started setting later, and there were some warm days that made me hopeful of what is just right around the corner. February felt long to me, for some reason. Maybe it was all the time I spent at home being iced in?

Something I'm carrying forward from this month to next: the hope and reality of becoming a first time home owner at the age of forty-nine. Since my divorce was final, I had to prove that I could pay the mortgage on time each month, and I had to build up my proof of consistent income. Since I'm staying in my house, I'm refinancing it and getting it out of his name and into my own. It's never too late to start over, right? I'm so close to this becoming a reality!

Something I'm making space for: time at home. I'm trying to welcome the habit of cooking at home more and sharing dinner with people I love, whether my sons, my friends, or Chris. I don't like eating out so much, honestly, and it feels good to be home more. I love the nights when I don't have anything going on! I've felt tired a lot this week, so maybe that's why I'm writing this.

I can't wait to read your answers to these prompts! Thanks again for being here today and for showing up to read my blog everyday. Love to all!

  2. Try Into the Woods if you have some outdoor reading time this weekend! Give yourself at least an hour to get into it!
Go see Wuthering Heights. I want to see it again.
I would like to hear what you are cooking - needing ideas!
Congrats on homeownership! That is so amazing!
I think this is the time of year that feels very tiring in a school so don't feel bad about that.

  3. Love your Jane Austen books. What a pretty collection! I have Unreasonable Hospitality on my shelf; I hope to get to it soon. Even though I love time out, I also love time at home. Glad you're finding more space for it!

    1. Thank you! I love those books. They were a gift from my ex-laws one year, but I can't bring myself to part with them. Thank you for the kind words! I am definitely happier and more at peace than I've been in a very long time. It was worth it all to get to where I am today.

  6. Hello! And congratulations on it all. You have proven to yourself...which is all that matters, by the way, that you can do all the things. And to own that beautiful home? Good for you! I am so with you on the staying in at night thing. I love being home, to the point where Steve has to drag me out sometimes! You are lovely and just a joy to visit. Have a cozy weekend, my friend.

    1. Hello to you! Thank you for that. It does feel good to have proven this of myself...and I am pretty proud of myself, to be quite honest. I didn't think I'd make it a day without a husband when he moved out, and here I am, thankful for where I am today. I totally get that! I talk myself out of things all the time! I always appreciate your loving and kind words, my friend.

  7. Your home looks lovely with your February refresh! You have so many pretty things dotted about.
The promise of spring has kept me going over the last few weeks too. We keep having warmer days here and then grey and wet ones inebetween.
That is great news that you are so close to owning your home! Good luck, I hope it all goes smoothly.

  8. So proud of you on your home ownership journey! It has been unseasonably warm in Waco, so I turned on the pool heater and jumped in on Friday…water temp was only 81 but still felt good. Nothing regulates my sensory system more than being in the water …and from working with kiddos you get that. Have a blessed weekend !

  10. I always think February feels like the longest month of the year (probably because it is typically our snowiest-- and boy did it live up to that name this year!). I had 4 or 5 books I had to return to the library unread today and I'm not sure I'll have time to finish the others I have out before they are due back too. I had not planned on being away from home for 9 days!

    1. I felt like that this month, even if I haven't in previous years. I just wondered if you had made it back home yet; I'm glad to know you did!

    1. Thank you, my friend! It does feel great to finally be okay with being at home at night. I think being stuck at home during all the ice did that for me, because I literally could not go anywhere for days on end. I always appreciate your encouragement!
