Happy Tuesday, friends! I'm talking about more things I'm saying yes to this week. I'm also linking up with Amy for the weekly Fashion Files and Joanne for Tuesday Talk. I'll jump right in!
And this was my outfit from yesterday. I'm loving the fall like weather!
I will say that I have recently bought a few things; I needed some more jeans, and I needed some more leggings in different colors. Here's what I bought!
Here are the tried and true jeans that I love so much. All of these things are from Halara! I think it's good to size down one size, because most of their pants grow with wear.
I also recently ordered this cardigan! I love it and I'm contemplating ordering it in more colors. I love it with a fitted tank top and leggings!
Same leggings and tank top, and the denim shirt/jacket I bought from Old Navy on Saturday! I love it unbuttoned with this tank, but I could also wear it open with a graphic tee that's fitted underneath.
Lastly, I ordered this sweatshirt from Shein last year, and I thought I was buying it in black; imagine my surprise when it showed up in hunter's orange. Chris loved this shirt, y'all, and it works out well since Wednesday is kindness day and we're all dressing in orange. His favorite color was orange! I hate this color, but it's fun and bright and says, "happy to see your face". The students love it as well, which is what it's all about!
I ordered a few more tops from Amazon yesterday, but stay tuned for those on next week's post.
And now for today's random thoughts...
It's hard to write blog posts everyday! This may be the first and last time I challenge myself to one post each day of the month. What are your thoughts on this? Have you enjoyed the extra posts, or do you just feel kind of meh about it all? You can be honest.
Anonymous needs to take a hike. I'm so over the rude comments on my blog and on your blogs. I kind of told her off yesterday, when she piped in on me having a date this weekend. I'm not asking for thoughts and opinions on that, and she was quick to chime in. Imagine that! 🤣
Kind of on that thought...I forgot I'd come up with a word of the year for 2026. I don't remember if I ever talked about it here, honestly, because it wasn't something I'd expected to do since it's been ages since I've done that. I still love the thought of it, I just stopped doing it along the way. I'm adding a link to this blog post, because it turns out that I did write about this. I got chills when I read this! Here's the link if you want to check it out. Back to why I'm sharing this again...my word for the year was allow. I need to remember to be choosy about what I actually allow in my life, and rude comments from someone too chicken to hide behind no name and a computer screen is right up at the top! I don't have to allow meanness, unkindness, or anything less than encouraging. I'm all for blocking certain people on my phone as well, and have one blocked at this moment due to belligerence and argumentativeness. I'm sure you can fill in the blanks on this one.
On a lighter note, I've been watching the OG Different World on Netflix. I remember watching this as a teenager and still love this show with Lisa Monet.
Y'all. It's 8:34 and I'm exhausted. Monday was a rough re-entry into reality! I wrote this last night as I watched TV.
What about you? Do you have any random thoughts you need to share? I'd love to hear them! Thanks for reading my blog, friends. Love to all!
xoxo,
Jen

I really like that cardigan. I'm a big fan of cardigans, and wear them all the time. Also, I love your curls! How do you get them to stay like that? Mine always go frizzy!
ReplyDeleteThank you! My co-worker ordered some and now all of us are ordering the same ones. Ha! Thank you for that! I use quite a bit of gel in my hair, and I apply it to my sopping wet hair while I'm in the shower. I wrap it in a towel for at least five minutes to absorb a good bit of the water, then I let it air dry. I never put heat on my hair! I think that's the trick...that and a lot of gel. Curls are so different, though...what works for me might not be great for you. I cannot use cream on mine, it causes frizz. I need something with a good hold! I hope that helps!
DeleteI started reporting Anonymous' comments as spam and now I don't really get them anymore. That cardigan is so cute! I love cardigans in theory only though as I often don't make it a whole day wearing one. I don't like that the front doesn't stay in place and end up taking it off part way through the day and swapping it out for something else.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good idea... I haven't done that, but I'll start. Thank you! I get that...a friend of mine has a cute clip that she bought to keep hers pulled together. I like that idea, too!
DeleteAnonymous has never commented on my blog but she (she's got to be a woman, right??) comments on quite a few that I read. She's... something else and kind/encouraging are definitely not the descriptive words I would use regarding her:). I don't blame you for blocking her! I really like your new denim shirt and the shirt will be perfect for wear orange to school day. I hope your yesterday was a good one!
ReplyDeleteShe HAS to be a woman! It isn't just mine that she comments on, but a lot of others, too. I think she's also the super political one that always has something negative to say about frivolous things that are in the blog world. Thanks for that, friend! It was a good day, but whoa! I was beat when I got home. Ha!
DeleteDo you know her IRL? I wonder where she takes the energy from to get worked up about someone else's life. Odd.
DeleteI love that you have been writing daily, and I think when you get to October 31st you will see that it was a good exercise for you! Do not allow any negativity in your life! Some can't be avoided, but much can. I love that you chose this word. Allow joy in and allow whatever to unfold. You are doing well! You are healing! I love that you chose some new things and I am excited to see you style all of them. That will help! I'm sure there are so many memories tied to your clothing as you reflect on this time last year, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for that! You are probably right. I am at that point where I'm trying to not let negativity in, though some cannot be avoided as you said. I appreciate all the kind words, and I think you're right.
DeleteRM-Anon here. I know that writing a daily blog can be a challenge but I always look forward to your posts. I admire your resilience and ability to bounce back from challenges. Hope you have a blessed day!
ReplyDeleteHi Jen,
ReplyDeleteI am also one of the anonymous commenters, but not the mean one from yesterday. Perhaps I ought to out myself at some stage (you don't know me IRL) so as not to get confused with the meanster 😩.
I like reading your blog. Hence I am not saying no to extra posts. However, imho it's probably best to give yourself grace and just write when you feel like writing and skip the occasional day when you don't feel like doing so.
