Friday Favorites

Happy Friday!  I am excited to be back in our regularly scheduled routine, and I am more than happy to be back to blogging my favorites blog post each week.  We had an ease into school again kind of week and tackled only the heavy subjects, so next week, we will be full steam ahead.  I'm thankful I can do this in our homeschooling life.  The boys are too.

I am linking up with Andrea from Momfessionals for this post.

Here are some of my favorite moments from this week, starting with last Sunday night.

Our juniors in the youth group at church had a bonfire party.  We had to drive out to the country for it, and we had a wonderful time!  And we ate something different than pizza~tacos!  It was a fun night, and it was lovely and cold outside as we sat and warmed by the fire.  Actually, there were two fires.  I love spending time with some of my most favorite people in all of the world.  I love it.  I don't think I can say that enough.

Y'all.  I have a new bible that I love.  I think it's my most favorite that I've ever had.  (I'm pretty sure I say that with every new bible that I ever get.)  It's purple leather, and it's an HCSB study bible.

Are you wondering why it's my favorite?  I will tell you.  First, it's huge, and I love a big bible.  I use it to study with, I use it for church on Sunday and Wednesday, and I use it every single day for my quiet time.  It's heavy, but that doesn't bother me in the least.  I love it because of the fact that this translation calls God by His correct name in certain passages.  For instance, in one place that I read yesterday, the Scripture called Him Yahweh.  I also love the study notes at the bottom, and I love that there are boxes on some of the pages with the Hebrew, Aramaic or Greek meaning of a word.  I love it.  So very much.

My favorite night of dinner this week was this big ole pot of vegetable beef stew.  It was hearty and delicious for the cold night that I made it.

And on the night that I made this, it ended up just being me that was eating it, so this sweet friend came over and joined me for dinner.  Now that is a good friend right there, one who'd already gotten all comfy after work and stayed that way as she came over and ate.  Dinner is always better when shared with those you love.  Missy is my favorite.

And last but not least are two things in this above picture.  One is that I am writing out Scripture for the month of January.  This is one of my favorite things to do, you all know that, but the second favorite thing in this picture is this journal that's pictured.  My dad and stepmom picked it out for me dinner and I am using it to write in each day for the Scripture I write out.

When I started this post, it was Friday, but life happened it was put on hold for twenty four hours.  Such is life.  So, have a great weekend, friends!  Love to all.
