Happy Thursday, friends! I'm here with Holly and Patty for today's blog post. I'll jump right in!
1. This summer I am mostly looking forward to doing new things. In years past, I haven't enjoyed the months making up summer as much as I could have, and this summer, I'm taking full advantage. One big thing for me this summer will be having music as a huge part of these warm and sultry months. I'm looking into a concert in June, and I hope to attend a weekly summer concert series on my town square with friends. The kick off for this is one week from today; I'm really excited about doing this each week!
2. My favorite summer traditions are swimming and celebrating the Fourth of July. I look forward to these things each year! This year I'll be in Denver on the 4th, which will be new and different. Those two things are a major life theme right now!
3. My travel plans this summer include going to Denver, and at least one other place before I start work again on July 28th. I am playing it by ear at the moment, but I hope it also includes a trip to the beach! We'll see.
4. I red, white, and blue very, very minimally. I'm not into the patriotic colors all together, but I could see me wearing something white and denim, maybe? And maybe a splash of red thrown in somewhere? I don't know...to be determined.
5. Beach? Lake? Pool? Yes to all of them! I love the beach, a lake, and the pool! I just love to be near water, no matter what it looks like.
6. My favorite summer sweet treat is homemade banana ice cream! This recipe is original to my grandmother on Dad's side; my mom has the recipe and they usually make it in the summer. It's so good with a drizzle of chocolate syrup.
7. My favorite sunscreen at the moment is one I bought by Sun Bum for my face. I don't use self tanners.
8. Best flip flops or sandals? I just bought a new pair of shoes to wear this summer for the outfits I have that are more casual; I'm having to buy new items of clothing and shoes because when I lose weight, my shoe size shrinks. I'm in an 8 and 1/2 right now, and I found some cute Reef brand slides. I'll keep you posted!
9. I don't know if I will be "staying fit", but I'd like to walk more, swim more, and just be active in general.
10. My favorite summer movies are those iconic summer blockbuster type movie. A few examples are Topgun Maverick, Indian Summer (from 1993), Thelma and Louise, A League of their Own, Mamma Mia, Dirty Dancing, Under the Tuscan Sun, and High School Musical of course.
What are some of your answers to these? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for reading my blog today, friends! Love to all.

Those are some great summer movies! I don't wear much red, white, and blue either but I definitely pair white and blue together often. I also had to get all new shoes when I lost weight.
ReplyDeleteAren't they? It makes me want to rewatch them. Isn't that the strangest thing?
DeleteYour summer travel plans sound great! And goodness yes, to outdoor music... We started taking advantage of going to tribute band concerts that our city provides for free last summer. I hope to go to a few concerts this summer as well.
ReplyDeleteI hope so! I am excited about doing this each week in the summer; I used to go all the time, but stopped eventually. It was more of a hassle with kids when they were younger, but now it's a different story. I hope you've had a great week!
DeleteI can't believe I forgot to list Dirty Dancing-seriously one of the best of all time! The banana ice cream? Sounds so delish and perfect for summer! Can't wait to follow along- I just know you will have an amazing summer :)
ReplyDeleteThe best of all time! I can still quote the whole movie and sing all the songs. It's so good! I'm excited for summer!
DeleteI want to shop for some Reef sandals as well! They are such great quality. There are also some Vionics that look really good to me. You have exactly two months until you start your new job!
ReplyDeleteI'll keep you posted! They arrive here today; I'm excited! I also ordered some new biker shorts that looked stylish, and a couple of new tops. Hopefully I love it all, but I can return something if I need to. You have such a great memory! You're right!
DeleteWe love live music here too and our little town has a Thursday night thing we often attend. Depends on the heat : ) It runs April -October so we tend to go more in the spring and fall, but we'll make a few of the summer ones too. Denver in the summer is so nice! My dad grew up in that area and we loved summer trips to my grandparents farm there when I was a child. Enjoy your summer!
ReplyDeleteI like that your concerts last longer! I would definitely lean more toward spring and fall as well, but I will still go and just take water and my portable fan. I'm excited to go back to Denver in the summer! It's been a while since I've been at that time of year. Thanks! I hope you do the same!
DeleteIt sounds like you have some great plans for the summer, especially the concerts! I hope you manage a trip to the beach.
ReplyDeleteThe banana ice cream sounds so good and Dirty Dancing is my favourite summer movie!
I sure hope so! It is so good, and quintessentially summertime to me. Isn't that the best movie ever?!
DeleteI'm a sun bum fan as well! Its exciting you get some time off work to enjoy your summer a bit! And Denver sounds exciting! I hope you have a wonderful summer and I look forward to reading all about it :)
ReplyDeleteYes! I did that on purpose so that I could take some time and relax before going back full time. It'll be an adjustment for me, but it's one I'm excited about. I still feel like my future looks bright! I have hope in so many things, but mainly Jesus, and that He has a perfect plan laid out for my life. I have to remind myself of this all the time when I have a pity party based on my current life at the moment. Thanks, sweet friend! I am excited to read along about yours as well!
DeleteI love any kind of water too...it's just so relaxing. I hope you'll get to go to the beach this summer.
ReplyDeleteYes! I wholeheartedly agree. I hope you had a great day!
