Friday Favorites, 6.4.21

Happy Friday, friends! I am linking up with Andrea for this weekly blog post. Here are some of my favorites from this very short week.

First up on my favorites from the week was going to the library, also known as my happy place. I hit the jackpot for once and am on the third book from this stack above. Reading #allthebooks has definitely been a favorite from the week.

I loved this book! It was so good and different from what I usually read. It's about a group of women who make the weeklong trek to the Canterbury cathedral. They don't know each other before the make this trip and while hiking, they each tell stories about anything they want, either fiction or fantasy and at the end, they all tell why they picked the stories they did to reveal who they really are. I am not doing the book justice, but it was so good.

Another favorite of mine was making our deck even prettier than it was. We've added all kinds of plants and I love how it looks. I'm going to sit out there as soon as I cool off from watering the flower beds.

Another favorite was when Todd and I took off on to Lowe's after dinner one night. It was raining and we were just walking around like we didn't have a care in the world. I won't talk about how frizzy and big my hair got, but it wasn't the same for twenty four hours after the fact.

We were the only ones there, needless to say.

Scripture writing has been my favorite part of quiet time all week. I'm loving all these verses on the character traits of a good friend.

I went out with my mom on Wednesday and we did something that is one of my favorite things to do—we went to look at fabric! I love this little fabric store about twenty minutes away from The Ville. We went to look and to be inspired and to dream about #allthethings we want to do in our houses. I'm smiling.

Another part of my quiet time that has been a favorite all week has been reading through Psalms. I loved these verses from Psalm 92 on Wednesday.

If you know me at all, you know having nice nails is a favorite. I have been doing the dip powder for over a year now and after the last time I went to have them done, I decided it was time to stop. I already miss the way they looked, but this picture above is just a regular manicure. I had the dip powder soaked off, then got a manicure. I went to Sally's beauty supply on Wednesday with my mom to get some tools to start doing them myself again, including a nail strengthener/base and top coat three in one polish from OPI, a ridge filler to make them even on the surface and some quick drying polish to use to finish them off. I'm looking forward to doing them myself again and I just so happen to be pretty good at it. I plan on changing polish colors every few days, which is what I'm really excited about. I have so many and they don't ever get used when I get them done.

And yes, my tattoo is still a favorite. I don't regret it one bit.

Thanks for reading my blog! I hope you have a great weekend, friends. Love to all.

  2. My mom and I used to love fabric store shopping too; sadly most of the fabric stores around us never stay open for very long.
