Thursday things

Happy Thursday, friends! I am still laughing and shaking my head at myself for my blog blunder yesterday. I can't believe I completely forgot about the Currently link party! I'd gone to bed on Tuesday night and as I was falling to sleep around the ten o'clock hour, I thought to myself, "I wonder if I ever scheduled that post to publish?" I couldn't definitively one way or the other, but the bottom line was, in no way was I going to get up and go do that at that hour. I figured I'd fix it in the morning, if I'd forgotten. The funny thing is, I thought I'd already written the post, but I hadn't! That's why mine was so short and sweet; I was writing it at six a.m. Wednesday morning. Oh well, right? It all turned out fine. Do you get brain fog when you're sick? I felt like I was operating in that all day long yesterday.

Anyway, I thought I'd share a few things that were inspiring to me today. As always, I figure if they're good for me to read and remember, chances are someone else will feel the same.

I think I've shared this picture below before, but I needed this reminder yesterday.

It's such a great reminder to trust in God, His timing and His sovereignty.

I loved what this image below says! I have said something similar in talking to a friend before.

It's better to be quick to pray, rather than quick to vent. I have had times that I've literally stopped myself from calling someone to talk about what just happened to me, and instead, I've poured my heart out to the Lord.

On a much lighter note, I love the thought of a capsule wardrobe. I know this isn't for everyone, but I love the idea of this. I'm actually pretty close to having something along these lines.

I think this is easier to accomplish in the cooler months, because of layering with third pieces.

Do you use Pinterest for inspiration? I use it for everything from meals to nail ideas.

I get my nails done once a month, which means I plan them out in advance, since I'm nerdy like that. I have black on right now and I'll wear it until Thanksgiving, then I'll switch to glittery red for Christmas. I have done a sparkly white for January, but I also love this color above and may do something similar.

I love this below! I may write these out each day in November. I always miss doing this when I skip a month.

You could just read these each day as well, but I love to write out Scripture because it helps me to remember it better. Have you ever done that?

Lastly, I love this about the month of November.

I think these are excellent things we could learn to put into practice not just this month, but every month.

Thanks for reading my blog, friends! Love to all.

  1. I do stuff like that all the time and it's really no big deal! And, I pushed publish instead of schedule yesterday - oh well!
I want to be close to a capsule, too. I like black, camel, wine especially.
I was like that when I did my nails, too. I like a deep forest green or a sparkly red with gold flecks, then January or before NYE calls for white sparkly like snow! Ha! I have ordered some holiday colors of Impress press ons. I am loving the shiny black right now, too!

  3. Amy, thanks for that! I am pretty hard on myself on things like this...but I really was in a brain fog. I like to think I have it all together, so something like this is good for me every once in a while to remind me that I don't. 🤣 I like those fall colors too! I also really love the olive green color. I need to do a forest green! I always forget about that color, but I know I'd love it. I can't wait to see which colors you picked!

  6. You know I used to be on Pinterest constantly and now I never go on it? I know that´s kind of odd. I guess I am more of an all or nothing gal. I was ALL for so long regarding it, lol. I like the concept of a capsule wardrobe but it is not for me. I like all of your quotes. So true on every level. Thanks for sharing!

  7. Pamela, I normally don't go over the top with glitter nails, but it's the one month that I feel like the more there is, the merrier I am!

  8. Maria, that's funny that you're all or nothing and that you're not on there that much anymore. It's probably my very favorite thing to do other than reading and writing blogs. Thanks for that!
