Happy Friday, friends! How has your week been? Mine has been really good, in spite of a few irritating moments, but I have nothing to complain about. I'm glad it's Friday; the weekends have become my favorite! Speaking of that, here are some more favorite moments from my week...
This is my favorite spot to watch TV these days! I was waiting on J to join me when I took this last Saturday. I really love the time we spend together on the weekends; it's beginning to feel like he's always been around, but it also still feels new and really exciting. This part of my joyful life is so much fun! I am ready for him to start meeting some of my people.
This is one of my favorite things that I saw on socials this week! It's so true, unfortunately, and I've had some eye-opening experiences lately in regards to who I let stay in my life. My peace of mind is so much more important than trying to remain friendly with people who are no longer in my life and won't ever be again. This is where I like to employ the "let them" theory from Mel Robbins.
How good/true is this?
These shoes are my new favorites!
I've been wanting a pair of these block style heels forever, and love the way they look on my feet.
Sitting right here was my favorite this week! And so was getting some sun on my legs while J did yard work.
This cracks me up! It's so true, but it was worth sharing again this week.
These gold hoops for my second and third holes are my new favorites!
And so is this hat! I needed one for the pool and for some outdoor events I've got coming up.
This reminder is always my favorite!
Sending daily pictures back and forth on text is also my favorite!
This dress is a favorite that I've recently rediscovered in my closet; it's a tiny bit on the shorter side, but I just keep it adjusted properly in the front to keep it from getting too short in the front.
The Salad Station twice this week was my favorite!
Chocolate fudge and strawberry ice cream are my favorite ice cream flavors! I ate my feelings Wednesday night.
Doing this on his couch is my favorite! I saw him last night and we watched a couple of episodes of White Lotus; I don't love season three and kept falling asleep again.
What's a favorite from your week? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for reading my blog today, friends. Love to all!
That saying is so good and I had to implement the Let Them theory this week myself. I am glad it was a good week, overall. I hope you have a good Friday my friend!
ReplyDeleteYes! I know you did. What is it with people?? It was definitely a good week overall. I refuse to let the small things throw me so far off! I'm glad we have fun things planned this weekend!
DeleteWe are loving The Residence! Season 3 of The White Lotus wasn't my favorite either.
ReplyDeleteWe tried that and he didn't love it; we couldn't get through the first episode. I was kind of hoping it would get better, but it doesn't seem like it's going to?
DeleteUgh to Season 3 of The White Lotus though I did think the acting was good. The story lines were a combo of ?!!!??! (in that exact punctuation order, lol). Your week sounds good and I am low key invested in your relationship with J though I am the most happy that it is going so well for you right now for YOU (which is obviously the most important part!).
ReplyDeleteThe acting IS good! You're exactly right! I love that you're low key invested in this relationship with J...and thank you for your sweet words!
DeleteThose "let them" sayings are wise yet common sense at the the same time, applicable to many situations. Holding hands on the couch while watching TV must be driving your ex crazy with envy and jealousy. One upside of blog photos, they're a great payback.
ReplyDeleteYes! I think so too. It's not driving him crazy, I assure you; he doesn't care one iota about me or what I do with my life, and truthfully, I feel the same about him and his new person. Also, he has nothing to do with my blog and why I write and share here. I rarely even think about him most days! I realize that may sound rude, but it's true. I've moved on and I don't spend time thinking of him and what he's doing now. This is my happy little blog space!
DeleteYour tv spot is perfection. Yes yes yes to Mel Robbins-she is genius- life changing attitude and approach after reading her book!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it perfect?! Especially when he's next to me. I love Mel Robbins! I should get her book.
DeleteIt's definitely a joyful week for you despite the hiccups. But, without them, would we appreciate the good? Also, these are helping you to continue to grow into this new Jenn that you are becoming. You have had some little happies and big happies this week and I hope you have a joy-filled weekend!
ReplyDeleteYes! I love that mentality and even heard it in a sermon last week and have been thinking about it since then. My friend said that we shouldn't resent the hard things we go through in life, because God uses them to shape us into who we are becoming. I loved that! I hope you have a great weekend, my friend.
DeleteI really enjoy the joy on your blogs Jen! I am going through some hardships so its hard to find the blessings in my days at the moment. But your light and love in your posts are a true reminder that there are always small joys, so thank you!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear that you're walking through some hard things. Feel free to reach out if you need a friend to talk to...my email is allboys@gmail.com. We're not meant to walk through life alone! I will be praying for you, in the meantime. Thank you for your kind words today, friend!
DeleteI love those block heel shoes! I love all the quotes, too! Such good words to live by.
ReplyDeleteHey there, Maddie! Thank you for the kind words! The block heels are seriously one of the best pair of shoes I've purchased in ages. I love them! I hope you have a great weekend!
DeleteThose shoes are great! You are great! And you also have the greatest hair on the Internet, lol! Gosh Jenn, I feel so bad. I would see you on Marilyn’s blog and I know I used to comment and enjoy your blog but I could not remember the name of it for the life for me after taking a year long sabbatical. I’ve just been getting back in the blogging the past few months and I’m happy to reconnect with you! You are precious!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Andrea! You made me laugh with the hair comment. 🤣 Don't feel bad; I recently changed my blog name, so there wasn't a way that you would have figured that out unless it was through another blog. No worries, friend! I didn't realize you were back to posting until today, so I'll look forward to staying caught up with you again! My life has changed so drastically in the last year...the sum of it is that I got divorced, and my dad died...both anniversaries are quickly approaching, since it was one year ago this month. Whew! Both statements still take my breath away sometimes when I stop to think. I try to avoid that at all costs! I hope you enjoy your weekend, friend. Take care!
DeleteAgree the “let them” approach is life changing—especially for those of us who have a people pleasing nature. Another good, short book is “The Coffee Bean”— really inspirational and quick read. Have an amazing weekend!
ReplyDeleteYES, YES, YES! I have those tendencies. I'll look into that book, thank you for the rec, friend. Happy weekend to you!
DeleteIt makes me happy for you that things are going so well between you and J.
ReplyDeleteThose shoes are fabulous and even look comfy. I am not usually one for heels but I think I could wear those.
