Happy Monday, friends! How was your weekend? Mine was pretty good, albeit a little low key. I hope you're able to say the same.
He had an afternoon appointment to get some tattoo work done on his right arm, and asked if I wanted to go with him. I took him up on it, and kind of enjoyed watching that process. It took forever...four hours! I ended up reading a book on my phone that I'd been wanting to read, the latest Taylor Jenkins Reid. We were so hungry when we left there and went to eat immediately afterward. We made it back to his house and ended the night watching comedians on Netflix. I was out so late, but I got to sleep in the next morning. (I didn't get home until one thirty!)
Saturday was a rainy mess for most of the day! I met up with my mom and sister for a couple of things, but we ended up calling it a day pretty quickly since it was so nasty outside. We were tired of getting in and out and getting wet in the process! I came home for the afternoon and then spent the rest of the afternoon/evening with J. There was a crazy storm at his house, and when I was on my way home, a massive tree had fallen across his road. I had to turn around and go back home via interstate, which added fifteen minutes to my drive time, but I was grateful that I didn't run up on the actual tree since it was dark and it was in an S-curve. I was literally thanking God for this.
I was up at the crack of dawn for church and had to send pics of my new shoes to my friends. I've been wanting some of these block heels. For the rest of the day, I sat my J's pool. It wasn't a bad gig! I'm writing this on Sunday, and I'm hoping I put to good use the dating advice I keep hearing to be confident about myself and that I actually take my coverup off this week and get in the dang water. Here's to hoping! 🤣
What did you do this weekend? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for being here to read today, friends. Love to all!
That dress is darling! Glad you had a relaxing weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm counting down to lunch today!
DeleteIt sounds like a nice weekend! Four hours for tattoo work? My ADD couldn't handle that, lol (I "joke" about having ADD- it's not diagnosed and it's definitely selective!). I hope you have a great Monday!
ReplyDeleteRight?! It went by fast for me, but I don't think I'd be able to handle it if I were the one under the needle. I guess he doesn't mind, or he wouldn't keep going back. I totally get what you mean about the selective ADD! 🤣 Have a great day, friend!
DeleteLove the heels! Get in the water! It's going to be so hot soon you will have no choice!
ReplyDeleteI got partly in, but he didn't this time. I sat and read while he mowed his grass, then I moved to the shad since I felt my skin burning. Next time for sure!
DeleteSounds like a fun and cozy weekend friend! Oh my word does that white dress look fab on you!
ReplyDeleteIt was! It went by too fast, though. Thank you, friend!
DeleteA pedicure sounds a great way to start your weekend.
ReplyDeleteI think it would be so interesting to see someone getting a tattoo. I don't have any and I've never seen them being done.
Oh gosh, how scary that a tree had fallen across the road. I am glad you got home safe.
Those shoes are so cute!
It was a nice way to start the weekend, you're right! I love watching this process and have seen it before, but it's not conducive to talking since the buzz of the needle is loud and the music was turned up. Thanks for that, friend! Happy Monday!
DeleteLove the shoes, but I especially love the dress! I say get in the water. I bet you're judging yourself far more harshly than he will : ) I have a mani pedi scheduled (finally!) for this Thursday and I can't wait. I tend to do the opposite and go bright on my toes and neutral on my hands but we're going to a wedding next week and my dress is pink and tangerine so I might go bright on both. Have a nice week!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I was going to get in with him, but since he didn't, I didn't either. I will definitely get in the next time! I'm glad you get to do a mani/pedi this week! Bright on both would be fun. I hope the same for you, friend!
DeleteOnce you take that coverup off and get in the water you will never go back. I think a pool is the biggest blessing in the south (we had ours built 18 years ago). We hosted a pool party for ten girls Sat for our granddaughters 11 birthday—they were adorable and had the best time, Have a blessed week!
ReplyDeleteI know! I'll do it the next time; he didn't get in either this week, but I'll join him the next time since he asked. I would agree with that! I had a pool growing up and loved it, but I've never had one since. I love to swim!
DeleteYikes glad that the downed tree only added a bit more time to your commute; it could for sure have been worse. I have never been in a tattoo parlor but I'm not sure I could watch someone get a tattoo. As curious as I am about the process I can't even watch when I have blood drawn or get a shot.
ReplyDeleteYes! I'm glad I saw it when I did. I sometimes have issues with depth perception at night, so I am very thankful. It's so interesting to watch! I agree about getting blood drawn, though. I can't watch!
DeleteHello! Love a pedicure! And you have the best fashion sense. Love the dress!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love it too; it's from last summer, another one from Shein. I feel really good in this dress! We all have those particular items that make us feel great, right?
DeleteWow, I love the church dress and the heels too. I'm planning on getting my nails done Friday and will definitely pick a neutral! Hope you have a good week. Scary about the downed tree!
ReplyDeleteThank you! That'll be fun to have your nails done this week. You can't ever go wrong with white! My faves are Alpine Snow, Funny Bunny, and Let's Be Friends, all by OPI. I listed them from whitest to more neutral, in case you wanted some suggestions!
DeleteThose are some nice tattoos, very festive and colorful. When folks run out of vacant skin they are extending them to the neck and chin areas. Your boyfriend looks like British celebrity soccer star David Beckham.
ReplyDeleteI love them! I've never seen so many with color, and he drives close to an hour away to go to someone that is really good with that. I asked him if he would extend them, but he said he would only fill in his other arm, then maybe do his calf...but not his hands, neck, or face. I don't like it when they creep up past the shirt collar! He does kinda resemble him!
DeleteSounds like a good weekend! Funny Bunny is always a good choice. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's a good classic color. I hope you've had a great week!
