Happy Tuesday, friends! I thought I'd talk about some more random things here today on a summery Tuesday.
Speaking of summer, I am not prepared for how hot it's already been! It hasn't gotten to the nineties yet, but the heat index has. We keep having lots of rain, and I think that makes it extra steamy on those days. I'm not necessarily complaining about the season feeling like the season we're in (I will be come August, though!), but I bought a new personal fan to get ready. This is one that Marilyn recommended...here's a link to this one pictured below.
It can be clipped to your waist band or worn around your neck. I bought it because I have some outdoor concerts coming up, and I'm beyond the point of caring. I introduced J to one of my portable fans this weekend; he was perplexed by it, which made me laugh. I asked him if he'd ever been around anyone that was menopausal, and his answer was that I was the most symptomatic he'd ever experienced. 🤣
This made me laugh way too hard, because it's extremely true. Marilyn, I'm talking to you again! Good grief, this made me laugh because of its accuracy. She recently had my phone deleting pictures of someone I dated a few times. She knew I was hanging onto the pictures he'd sent me, and she was not having that!
This is a picture my friend Lydia posted on socials last week; she's known for her love of reading. I thought I'd share this in case you're looking for something for yourself!
I love that my little town holds summer concerts on the square each week! I'd love to attend these for as long as I can stand the heat, but here we are last week on the first night. We left early because it was raining, and then it got unbearably hot. It wasn't as crowded as I had thought it would be, but I think the crowd will grow as summer goes on. I wore a dress to this to help keep me cool, and I'm glad I did.
My Sunday afternoon views were pretty nice! 😉 He had on long sleeves because he'd just finished mowing and was trying not to get burned. We sat in this spot and listened to music for a while before someone came over to help him with something. At that point while he was outside, I changed back into normal clothes and sat in his living room reading until we went to grab dinner, then we started season 3 of White Lotus...but we'll have to rewatch the episodes we watched since I was having problems staying awake.
Jonah has a new weekend hobby: riding four wheelers in very muddy places. This picture of him cracks me up! I took a screenshot of this that his friend Olivia posted, because of that muddy handprint on his back.
Mondays are always better when friends and good food are involved! We really, really love The Salad Station. It kept me full all day, so much so that I only had a few bites of chicken salad with almond flour crackers for dinner.
I love my little town! I didn't take this picture, but one of our town photographers did. I love being out on the town square!
What's something random in your life recently? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for reading my blog today, friends. Love to all!
Jenn ❤️

I enjoy reading these types of posts- everyday random life things satisfy that nos...er curious nature of those of us who enjoy peaks into others' lives :). That pool is lovely. Is it J's? Your salads with Marilyn always look so good. I think I'd love a place like that. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy these types of posts as well! They remind me of the early blogging days; remember those? You made me laugh, because I'm nosy/curious as well! The pool is his; he lives on five acres, so he stays busy with yard work! I am sure you would love it, it's so good! Happy Tuesday, sweet friend!
DeleteI enjoyed lunch, even though I was a hot mess, literally. I hope it is a great day for you!
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing you as a hot mess, instead of it being me for once! It's your turn to be giddy and to have that giant smile on your face. Lunch was so good, as always, and I'm still laughing over us talking on the phone two more times afterward. We never run out of things to say!
DeleteNext step - water spray bottle to take with you. Also go with wet hair or at least wet the underside of it! I did a whole post on how to stay cool in the summer a few years ago but I can't find it! Lol!
ReplyDeleteThat is genius! I hate not being able to find a post. If you do, will you text me a link?
DeleteIt has been comfortably warm here but we've had plenty of rain too. I love the sound of that fan!
ReplyDeleteThe summer concerts in your town sound like a lot of fun.
We've had lots of rain as well! I've used hers before, and it's amazing.
DeleteJ’s backyard and pool area stunning; as lucious as any resort! Weird, rainy weather in Waco this week— have a good one friend!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it beautiful? It's kind of in the perfect location: a little country, and not far from the city. I hope your week is off to a great start!
DeleteIt looks like summer is off to a great start! The pool is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIt is! I think so too. Have a great day, my friend!
DeleteWow! Hope you get to spend lots of time at that pool this summer- that fan cracks me up! Your town looks so pretty :)
DeleteHolly- me too! Oh, the menopause fans I have. 🤣 Thanks, friend! I'd love to show you around town if you ever come down my way!
DeleteIt sounds like summer has arrived where you live and you are enjoying every moment of it. We are finally having some days in the 80s along the Colorado front range but I haven't slipped into full summer mode as yet. First job will be to wash the pollen off out=r oiutdoor furnicture and fire up the grill!
ReplyDeleteIt has, and I am so far! I hope you get to do those things soon, and that your warmer temps stick around!
