Happy Friday, friends! I survived my first week and am so glad it's Friday. I can't wait to sleep in later tomorrow! 🤣 It's been a whirlwind of a week, but I still have some favorites. Here are a few of them...
I wore my favorite dress to church on Sunday; its collar pop is my favorite detail! Please note my dainty little necklace; Marilyn and I have matching ones that say BFF. I love this! Singing in choir was also a favorite from my week; it felt great to be back! I was scheduled to start back to the praise team as well, and was a favorite thing to wake up to on Monday morning.
Sweet Jerry invited me over to swim with him on Sunday at his house. I love that we adore each other as friends; we text all throughout the week a lot and we're both good at checking in on each other. I have a date this weekend that I was talking to him about. I love this about our friendship! We definitely flirted for a minute while we were together, which is fun, but we'll never be more than friends. Who am I? I continue to be shocked at this version of myself. I'm here for it, and whatever this brings! I'm in my favorite phase of life currently.
My favorite thing in the world is seeing my sons thrive in their lives. Jonah is loving his new toy! I call this a four wheeler; Jonah calls it a bike like all the young people. Do you have thoughts on this?
In one of the meetings I was in on Monday, my principal shared this screen. She was invited to tour a Navy base over the summer with other administrators from around the country, and these are some of the lessons she learned from that trip. This was one of my favorite parts of her presentations on Monday!
Going home for lunch everyday was a favorite part of my afternoons! The pups appreciated being let out midday as well,
I pulled out my favorite readers again this week. I love these quirky glasses I bought while I was in Louisville this spring!
My new friend Kendra sent me this on Instagram, and it was my favorite thing online this week.
Leaving campus was a favorite this week! It was fun to go to the high school for some training. We'll do this again next week for a Back to School bash, where we all wear school t-shirts and get a district wide picture of all of the school staff.
Wearing leggings this week (and finding out I can wear them at work with long tunics) was a huge favorite!
Making sourdough and having it turn out great was a favorite this week! It's been ages since I've had a loaf turn out so well.
Chloe is my favorite. End of story.
Fresh haircuts are my favorite! My girl took off several inches yesterday, which was much needed!
And speaking of my girl, look who I had dinner with last night! I came straight to her house after my hair appointment and we hugged and were like teenage girls catching up on life. She and I have super fun plans tonight, so stay tuned and come back on Monday!
Do you have a favorite from the week? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for reading my blog today, friends. Love to all!
Jenn ❤️
What a great first week of a new season for you :). So happy for you Friend. Time is a funny thing - I bet looking back and sitting "in" August 1, 2024 you could never, ever have imagined this post. Good for you - Go God!!! He's got you!! Turning misery into JOY - what a testimony to His love and faithfulness to you.
ReplyDeleteIt has been! Thank you for being such a source of encouragement for me. Time is definitely an interesting thing, and you are right; I never would have imagined my current life today a year ago today. I'm excited for my future, and you are right about God having me! He has never once let me down or failed me; I know He has bright plans for my future.
DeleteSome of your week is giving me PTSD and flashbacks. I love the "last meeting" theory. It's often hard to accept that certain people have served their purpose in our lives. Have so much fun tonight!
ReplyDeleteI actually wondered if it would do that to you, reading about my work week. I think the difference for me is that they email most things and only make us attend the important stuff in actual meetings. The admin staff values our time both at school and away from there; if we finish early, we're dismissed early. I love this, that they take this into consideration. It's an amazing school to be at, and I couldn't be more excited to be there again. The joy everyone has is contagious!
DeleteI loved that theory too! It is hard, but it's something I am learning each and everyday. Thanks, friend!
Looks like you had a great week! That sourdough does look amazing. I haven't made a loaf in quite some time, but seeing yours kind of gave me the bug again.
ReplyDeleteThank you! It turned out so well...for the first time in ages, actually. I was glad for this, because I've missed making/eating the bread. Happy baking to you!
DeleteWow! You are glowing and look so happy and I love to see that- you deserve all the best! Can't wait to read all about your new job. Have a blast with Marilyn XO
ReplyDeleteThank you for that, sweet lady! It's been such a fun week; I feel so grateful to be able to look forward to work each day. Mindset is everything, right?
DeleteThe last meeting thing hits hard as I have a feeling I’m nearing the end of a friendship. Thanks for sharing. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI know, right? It got me last week; I had a good cry when I read it after my friend sent it to me. It's not an easy thing to accept, but we sometimes just have to move on and be okay with how God works things out for the good of those who love Him.
DeleteI love the theory of last meeting. And I apply that to an old friend. Would you mind sharing the eyeshadows that you wear, I love the colours. Hopefully it’s a brand I can find in Australia. Happy for you that you are at a school you like. Rita
ReplyDeleteI loved it, too! Sure- it's the Elf brand mini palette in shimmery colors: there's a gold, a cream, another shimmery cream, and a dark brown. I use a combo of the gold, shimmery cream and the brown is what I use to line with. I hope that helps! Happy Friday!
DeleteThat sounds like a fabulous first week of work! We tend to call those quads or 4 wheelers too; our side by side often looks like that but I can't imaging going through mud like that without a roof and windshield.... some of those mud puddles smell SO BAD and I can't imagine getting them on me (though I typically do need to shower when we get home anyway as the roof and windows aren't air/water tight like in a car.
ReplyDeleteYou are so pretty my friend and glad it's been such a good week and life is going so well for you!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a great week. Enjoy sleeping in later tomorrow, you deserve it!
ReplyDeleteThat is good that you and Jerry are friends., everyone needs good friends in their life.
I would call that of Jonah's a four wheeler too. It looks like he has been having great fun with it going by all the mud and dirt.
Your hair is just fabulous and the new haircut looks great!
What a great week! And how wonderful to be able to go home on lunch breaks. Hope you have an amazing weekend!
