Happy Tuesday, friends! Surprise! I didn't expect to be here today, but after yesterday's heartfelt words, I thought I'd come back today for something a little more lighthearted. I'm here linking up with Joanne for her weekly link party! I know it's not the end of summer yet, but it feels like we're on the downward spiral out of this season into the next. And yes, that is also known as The Most Wonderful Time of Year! The b-e-r months are my favorite! Because of this, I thought I'd do a little check-in with my Summer Bucket List. Let's see how I fared! I'll make comments under the statements below...the original text is in bold and italics; my updated answers will be in the regular font.
- listen to live music often (I'm looking forward to nights of Summer Concerts on the town square.) I definitely accomplished this one! I only attended one Summer concert on the town square, but I made it to three concerts and am going to one more next weekend. I can't wait! This time I'm seeing Darius Rucker. To refresh you, this summer I saw Treaty Oak Revival, Old Dominion, and Teddy Swims in concert. All of them were amazing!
- entertain often! I did do this some, but not necessarily in the way that I thought I would? I envisioned friends over, but instead it was mostly my sons, their friends, my brother and his son, and a few other friends here and there. I'm not complaining, because at least I did get to this some!
- porch sitting before it's too hot I sat out there a few times, but we jumped from spring straight into the dog days of summer.
- play mini golf No, but I still want to do this on a date!
- spend time by the pool I'm so glad I was able to do this so much! My favorite poolside time all summer was at the infinity pool that was in the complex of where I stayed while at the beach.
- beach reads I wish! We all know my issues with reading books right now.
- go to farmer's markets Nope! It felt too hot.
- work on my closet I did get to this one! I worked on it in spurts, and just did it yet again yesterday morning before I got dressed for work.
- go on a weekend trip I am going to include the Dallas trip that I took with Marilyn in May here.
- go to the beach (I'm crossing my fingers that I get to go again this summer!) Check!
- enjoy a fireworks show I'm so glad that I got to see fireworks again this year! I watched from my front porch.
- put up new outdoor lights I still need and want to do this!
- keep working on maintaining the flower beds I have tried to keep up with this, but it hasn't gone as well as I'd hoped.
- water the hanging basket I have and buy three more I did keep up with the one, but I never bought another one.
- spray the weeds going in the driveway cracks Done!
- light more candles Done and done!
- paint more of the interior spaces I'm so glad to say that this is done! I had the rest of the downstairs painted while I was in Denver; I came home on a Friday and the painters finished on Saturday.
- host a best friends night at my house I never got around to this, but there is still time!
- enjoy being outside more on the cooler days I'm still looking forward to this on the cooler days. Surely September will bring them!
- meal prep more I didn't do this, but I was a little better at buying groceries.
- clean out and declutter more (hall closet, cabinets in the living room) I lost my determination on this one...but I'm holding onto hope.
I have never made a "bucket list" insofar as an actual list written on a piece of paper or typed in electronic format but I have mentally made some lists :). I got to a few of the things that I wanted to this summer but not all (kinda like you :)). Speaking of your list, it seems like the things that you got to were among the best ones like getting to the beach :). Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI did definitely get to the best ones! I'm so glad for that. Happy Tuesday!
DeleteI think you did great! Would you like to have people over around a firepit? Maybe that would be a good way to entertain in early fall and fall?
ReplyDeleteI'd love to do that again and kind of have that in mind. I think fall is more conducive to entertain if you want to include the outdoors. I'm proud of myself that I got to so many!
DeleteIt is starting to feel less like summer here, especially this week with cooler weather and gloomy skies.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you have had a great summer and ticked plenty off your bucket list. There's still time to complete more especially when the weather cools a little.
I'm a little jealous! I'm getting tired of the oppressive heat; I don't even mind it if it's not unbearable like it has been lately. It was a great summer! I'm still looking forward to some of these!
DeleteBring on the “ber” months! I’m ready. This reminds me, I need to do a summer bucketlist update as well. You knocked so many things off your list and it seems like you had a very intentional summer!!
ReplyDeleteRight?! Yes, please! I'm so ready for fall. It was a great and intentional summer!
DeleteYou did great with your bucket list. I just can't get over what a difference the new paint color makes! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I still love coming home to it everyday!
DeleteI just love your fresh paint and living room update —such a cozy vibe! Have a great week with your school kiddos!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love it, too. I'm so glad I had that done! I wanted to get new floors this summer, but when I couldn't do that, I'm glad I at least did SOMETHING to improve the interior of my home. And now it feels like mine, and not "ours". I am so pleased with how it all turned out! Up next: new fall decor! I hate to put orange in the new space.
