weekending

Happy Monday, friends! I'm linking up with Holly and Sarah for today's blog post. How was your weekend? Mine was really good! Here are some things I loved about the weekend that flew by with lightning speed.

I sent this picture to Chris Friday morning; I was basically saying, "Cheers to the weekend!" to him with my protein coffee drink. I dressed for comfort and ease that day and picked out my school t-shirt to wear with black pants.

Imagine the laugh we shared when Karen showed up in the same thing! She's the one I was hired to work with, but really I go between her and two other SPED teachers in the Resource S classroom. Karen handles intervention for second and third grades; Carla handles that with K and fourth grade; Heather is first and fifth grades. I go all over the building everyday, and this is why: I assist them all. I love it so much, and that my day is a little crazy. It definitely breaks up the mundane for me! I don't have any pictures from my Friday night, but I hung out with Chris and one of his friends as he packed up his house to get ready to move. We had a late dinner at a local favorite place (Huey's), then went back to his house to finish up. We hung out at my house after that.

I had a hair appointment Saturday!

I love a good before and after. (Before was me in the denim shirt, after was me in the red romper.)

I feel like I live in my car sometimes! I had all the things in my purse that morning for my hours-long appointment.

I came home and did a few things around my house after I had my hair done, then I left at four to head to Marilyn's for the night. We saw Darius Rucker in concert, and friends! It was amazing. He is amazing!

I was blown away by his concert. We both were! He has aged extremely well, and Hootie still has it, my friends! 🤣 One of us (not me) might have gone on a deep dive of his history and story on this night, beginning during his first song...and that might have continued on into the next day!

It was such a fun night. I ran into my friend Lynda who does my hair, and we each saw other people we knew. There were a ton of people there! I spent the night with Marilyn again since we were out so late, and then I left from her house to go to church the next morning. After church I met up with her and another friend for lunch at Taziki's. It was delicious! I left them and came home for medicine and a nap...and that's where I am right now as I write this on Sunday afternoon. As I'm writing this, I'm not sure of my plans for the evening, so I'll share about the rest of the day later in the week.

How was your weekend? What is one thing from yours that you loved? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for reading my blog today, friends. Come back tomorrow for another Tuesday blog post! Also, as a friendly reminder, this Saturday is our Share 4 Somethings link party for August. I hope you make plans to join me for that! Love to all. xoxo

  1. Love the new hair! I also listened to some Hootie Spotify this weekend to be in solidarity with you two! So fun! I think your weather cooled down a bit, too? Is Chris moving out of town? I hope not!

    1. Thank you! I love fresh hair. Aw, thanks for wanting to be solidarity with us! It would have been fun if you'd been with us. It was amazing! Yes, we're in fake fall this week here, and I am here for every second! I plan on pulling out some of my pants for work this week. He is moving a bit farther away, which I'm really sad about. It's not terrible, but we'll make it work. He will continue to work in Memphis, so we'll see each other on week nights some as well.

  5. That does sound like such a fun weekend. I feel like ours flew by too; I had someone talking about heading back to work tomorrow when we saw them on Sunday and I quite honestly thought they were off a day since I was so sure it was only Saturday. It just flew by!
