Friday Favorites, 9.5.2025.

Happy Friday, friends! How has your week been? Mine was really good; it went by super quickly! I appreciate this, because usually in a school setting the short weeks drag on and on forever it seems. I am still loving my days at work, and how different they look from one to another. It's never boring, and there's a lot of laughter involved! Just Wednesday I had a little boy tell me that he trusted women more than men, so he wanted to be in the girl scouts. I laughed, and then I found out about his life, and well...it didn't seem that funny anymore. Poor little guy! Also, that same kid calls me Ms. Loyal, and I kind of love it so much that I can't ever seem to correct him. 🤣

I'll move on to some favorites from the week.

I decorated for fall this week! This is my new favorite candle; Chris picked it out when we were at Marshall's together last Saturday night.

This view is still my favorite! I was laying down when I took this picture.

Drives out to the country are my favorite!

These little Cayman Jack's are my favorite cocktail at the moment. The flavors are lime, strawberry, and watermelon.

My new nails are my favorite! I took a picture of the name of the color so I'd remember it, since it's not an easy one. Amy, can you translate this?

Salad dates with Marilyn are my favorite!

My co-workers that I eat lunch with everyday at work and I call ourselves The Lunch Bunch. One of them had a birthday last week, so Karen made this chocolate cake with scrumptious icing from scratch; it was my favorite thing that I added to my lunch everyday!

This is one of my favorite hangout spots in town!

This is one of my favorite things that I saw on socials this week. It spoke volumes to me!

Getting dressed is always my favorite; these are the outfits I wore to work so far this week. The last one is from last Friday; it was team sports jersey day, but I don't have anything sports related to wear. I just wore this royal blue dress since it's the color for University of Memphis and called it a day.

Getting pictures of Chris in exchange for the ones I sent to him is my favorite! So was eating dinner with him last night.

Wednesday nights at Rotolo's with Kendra and Marilyn are my favorite! So are their half priced bottles of wine and calzones. The live music was extra good this week!

I loved this from Instagram! It's true.

My current watch face is my favorite.

This book is going to be a favorite! I started it Wednesday at work on my break. Do you follow Case Kenny on Instagram? I love his account!

What was a favorite of yours from this week? Do you have big weekend plans? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for reading my blog today, friends. love to all!

  1. Such great pics- you and Mare look adorable! I need to read about how to change my watch face (I did it a lot with my old watch but can't figure it out on my new one :(). I like yours! Your living room is so pretty- the wall color you painted it is growing on me. (Aren't you glad, lol?) I hope you have a great weekend!

    1. Thanks for that! I love changing the face of mine; I do it often to match my outfits. I love my wall color, and I'm SO GLAD it's growing on you! 🤣 It's taken me a minute, too. I missed the blue a lot at first, but I don't anymore. I hope you have a great weekend as well, my friend!

  3. Was that a test for me? The Duomo is a cathedral in Italy and Isola is an island of Italy's. So the color will take you from a daytime setting to a nighttime setting apparently! Lol! I love the color!
What a nice week you had! Love the outfits! Love your evenings and salads out! I love a spinach calzone with marinara to dip it in - maybe more than pizza.

    2. Amy, I thought it was Spanish! It wasn't a test, just a question. Ha! Thanks, friend! I'm loving my evenings out, too. It's working for me since I have to eat!

    3. Thanks, Jenni! I love writing and this space...it brings me so much joy. That's why I'm able to do this frequently! It's worth every moment of time it takes to manage things here. I hope you've had a great week!

  4. I'm taking this as the reminder I need to finally change my watch face! I've been in a bit of an end-of-summer "rut" and little things like this are exactly the cure! Little aesthetic changes have a disproportionate impact on me and it hadn't crossed my mind to update my watch face!

    1. Go for it, friend! I love doing things like that from one season to the next. I totally get being in that rut! I get like that, too. Thanks for stopping by today to comment!

  6. I love your nails! That book sounds fabulous. All your fall outfits are adorable. It can be rather heartbreaking to hear about the home lives of some of these kids; I once had a second grader tell me she lived with her grandmother because her mom tried to drown her as a baby!

    1. That's so tragic, how does a child ever get over something like this. I noticed especially early morning at the supermarkets, a lot of grandparents shopping with small children, I didn't see this as much years ago so I think a number of these are CPS placements. I spend most of my time overseas so the changes there are noticeable when returning after a year, same with the homeless issue.

    2. Joanne, it's good! And thanks for that, friend. I wholeheartedly agree about the heartbreaking stories I hear from kids in school; it's such a blessing to get to be with them in their day. I live for their sweet little hugs!

    3. Anonymous, I agree! I don't think kids can ever quite get over tragic things. I think they learn to deal with them as they grow older, but it's too much for their little hearts. I consider it a great blessing to be able to be a small part of their days! I hadn't thought about seeing grandparents with kids, but you're right. That's sad as well.

  10. Ms. Loyal!! How adorable. I also wouldn't correct him lol. But keep an eye on that kiddo not trusting men; I'm sure you're a mandated reporter.

You look amazing in your pics-- once again, outfit inspiration!

I'm going to check out that book; thanks for suggesting! Have a lovely weekend!
