Tuesday Talk--All Time Favorites

Happy Tuesday, friends! I'm joining with Marilyn today in solidarity over this book that she bought for us to go through together in the coming months. It's called Burn After Writing, and I highly recommend it for fun and therapy! Today's page that I'm doing is about all-time favorites. I'll jump right in!

Song: My current favorite song that's being played on the radio is Worst Way by Riley Green.

Album: The one that comes to mind was from when I was a teenager, and it was the soundtrack to Dirty Dancing.

Concert: I think Darius Rucker is in the top spot for favorite concerts of all time. Before his concert this summer, I would have said Kenny Chesney or Tim McGraw.

Place: My favorite place to be is with friends; second place is my home.

Movie: The Wedding Date or Dirty Dancing

Book: I have an entire series that is my favorite, and it's the Sisterchicks series by Robin Jones Gunn.

Band: Maroon 5

Artist: Wes Anderson is my favorite artist; his Instagram is Accidentally Wes Anderson. Here's a sampling of his work.

Holiday: Christmas, but not the day...just the season in general.

City: New York City!

Teacher: I remember loving my 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Gentry. I also oved my geometry teacher when I was a sophomore, Ms. McCullough.

Word: providence (it means the protective care of God)

TV program: Gilmore Girls (or maybe Virgin River or Sweet Magnolias)

Before I wrap up today's post, I have a little blog business to attend to. First up is that Share 4 Somethings is coming up this Saturday the 27th! Currently will take place on October 1, and the prompts for October are loving, anticipating, looking forward to, wearing, and cooking. I hope you'll make plans to join me for both!

What are a couple of your all time favorite things? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for reading my blog, friends. Love to all!

Jenn xoxo

    1. I feel like I have a lot of favorites, but they're definitely high up there. I've had a crush on Adam Levine for literal years. My boys and I always listened to their music as we drove around, so it brings up great memories. Wasn't that a great soundtrack?! I still love it all these years later!

    1. You've never seen that?! Oh my gosh, it's so good. I don't know why I love it so much, except for maybe that it's Dermot Mulroney...and I love him in everything. I hope you try those books! They're all amazing.

  5. GG is definitely up there on my favorite show list and Dirty Dancing is high on my movie list. We had a Swedish exchange student live with us my sophomore year of HS. She was obsessed with Patrick Swayze. We watched the VHS tape (yup I’m that old) of Dirty Dancing every day after school for months.

  10. Ahh! I love the Dirty Dancing soundtrack, all the songs are my favourites. I am trying to pin my youngest down to watch the movie as she told me the other week that she's never seen it properly! I don't get how, I've watched it enough times. lol

  11. Thanks for the prompts! I always have such a hard time picking favorites... in anything! I can easily pick my favorite concert though since I've only ever been to 3; it was the 21 Pilots concert last fall. I'm hoping we like the upcoming concert just as much (and I"m sure we will) but man am I dreading the drive and the parking situation in the city.

  12. I love reading favorites. When you were in jr high and high school, did you ever fill out a page of favorites and pass them along to friends? If Darius was better than Kenny Chesney, I definitely need to check out his concert next time he's in town. Hope you're having a terrific Tuesday!

    1. I did do that, but I'd forgotten about it until just now! You will definitely need to check out one of his concerts if you ever get the chance. It was the most fun night ever!

  13. Fun! I also love Gilmore Girls (same age as Rory, love the characters) and NYC!

    I’ll do some!:

Place: my bedroom, here in Brooklyn with my dogs, nestled and quiet and content

Book: The Sound and the Fury by William Faulkner—I’ve never read human emotion and experience captured better.

City: NYC. I’ve had the privilege of living here for 20 years and experiencing new things all the time.

Teacher: Oh my stars, more than I can list! My teachers were my heroes, and it’s why I want to be the best teacher I can be today. I can’t name them all here. G-d bless hard-working teachers!

    Album: Tori Amos, "Little Earthquakes"

TV program: I Love Lucy, Seinfeld, or Arrested Development…

I loved reading your choices; thanks for sharing!

    1. I loved reading your answers as well! I can totally see why you would love being at home, snuggled up with your dogs, and in NYC. I have dreamed of living there, believe it or not...the city life fascinates me, and I hope to get back there again next year. Thanks for sharing these with me, I love getting to know you!
