Happy Wednesday, friends! I'm here with Joyce again today for the weekly hodgepodge...this is a post that I dearly love; thank you, Joyce, for your inspiring and thought provoking questions each and every week! I'll jump right in!
1. March has rolled right out of here! Sum up the month in ten words or less.
March was full of Chris...
...family moments...
...Colorado and Spring Break...
...Marilyn...
...and spectacular sunsets. I feel so fortunate to be able to say all of this!
2. Are you afraid of heights? When was the last time you found yourself dealing with a height, and did it make you nervous? I am afraid of heights. The last time I dealt with this was when I flew to Colorado; yes, I consider flying facing my fear of heights. I get nervous every time the plane leaves the ground and I always sigh with relief and a "thank you, Lord" every time I land.
3. What's a word you struggle to spell on a regular basis, and sometimes need to double check before writing it down? Use that word in a sentence telling us about your April calendar. I always struggle with remembering how to spell Caesar (I JUST did it!), and every time I go to write/spell the word, I have to click on the squiggly line underneath it to spell it correctly.
Caesar reminds me of salad, and in April, I plan on going back to Salad Station with Mare. It's been ages since we've been there! We were just talking about this Sunday night when we were together.
Just looking at this older picture makes my mouth water.
4. Love 'em or hate 'em, with Easter comes the sweet treats known as Peeps. So...do you love 'em or hate 'em? Speaking of Peeps, what's your favorite way to have chicken? I hate Peeps. Peeps makes me think of my friend and co-worker Tara whose last name has to do with Peeps; that's the name of her classroom. She has huge Peep props all over her classroom, and it's adorable.
My favorite way to have chicken is a dish that I love that my stepdad makes really well: chicken piccata. It's delicious with it's lemon juice/zest and capers. I love a briny flavor! Bill...I know you're reading this, so please make this soon and invite me over.
5. This week's Hodgepodge lands on the first of April, which happens to be National Poetry Month. Do you like poetry? Share a favorite line or two from one of your favorite poems. What makes this one a favorite? I like this modern day poet that I found on Instagram a while back, because of Sophie Hudson. His name is David Gate, and while I don't agree with everything he writes and stands for, this one spoke volumes to me.
I love this because it's a great reminder to be kind at all times. Kindness is everything to me.
6. Insert your own random thought here. I'm tired! I had a long day; I went to work, then I came home to change, and left again to go out with a friend from work who invited me to go do something. It was a fun night! I came home and took a shower and wrote this post, then went to bed.
Thanks for reading my blog today, friends! I can't wait to read your answers to these prompts. Love to all!
Jenn

I too have a fear of heights but flying does not trigger it. I have never ever liked peeps; I don't like anything with marshmallow but peeps are even worse with the gritty feel of the sugar added in.
ReplyDeleteI'm envious that flying doesn't trigger your fear of heights; it never did to me either until I was in my mid thirties. The peeps are almost an intolerable thought...I get sick to my stomach just thinking about eating one!
DeleteI love that gritty sugar feel of Peeps, lol!! That is cute the Peep inspired classroom because of the teacher's last name (there's SO MUCH Peep stuff now besides the candy one can buy!). There's a teacher at our middle school whose last name sounds sort of like an animal so he's made the animal that sounds like his name his classroom motif and it's cute/odd how much animal stuff his room has! Students draw pictures of the animal for him and he posts them in his classroom as well (I think that part of his room is sweet!). I feel the same way about the word Caesar! Thank goodness for the squiggly lines!!
ReplyDeleteThat's funny that you love them! I don't know many people who do, but to each our own, right? Ha! I love that about the teacher you mentioned! I love seeing artwork from students. I think that's really sweet!
DeleteWhat a wonderful March with your people! I love chicken piccata too- I almost answered with that dish :) That statement on kindness is everything- I am stealing it- thank you so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteIt was! That's funny that you almost went with that as well. Isn't that great? You should follow him on IG!
DeleteTry a Peeps S'more in your fire pit and then get back to me!
ReplyDeleteI like that modern poem. I always try to be kind and friendly out in the world and sometimes people are surprised that I am. Maybe I look like a Karen? People always talk to me, too. I said that on a post recently. Some of my friends have a running joke about me "making friends".
You had a super full month! It hardly seems possible that you did all that.
My cousin makes a salad bar in her fridge. I love that idea! I sometimes do that with my "snackle box".
I bet that is good! I know what you mean about trying to be kind out in public; I am the same. It's funny that you say that people are surprised by your kindness. Do you have a resting B---- face? I'm writing that and laughing, because that is SO a thing, and I have to be careful about my own. I get talked to as well...all the time! People love to tell me things. I think that's a gift and a curse (when you're in a hurry). March was a great month for me! I love the idea of a salad bar in your fridge; I've seen videos of that on TikTok.
DeleteAww! A month full of Chris, family moments, Colorado and friends sounds like a good one!
ReplyDeleteI have never been on a plane as just the idea of it fills me with dread!
There are a lot of words I can't spell and thankfully Caesar doesn't come up much for me. I would struggle with it too. That salad does look so good!
That poem is a great reminder to be kind.
Thank you, friend! It's not too bad once you're up in the air, but leaving the ground is hard for me. Ha! I hope you're having a great week!
DeleteYes to Salad Station soon! We need to talk about this!
ReplyDeleteI just made a menu plan yesterday for the rest of the week and put chicken piccata on it. I love Ina Garten's recipe and it's simple. I don't love flying mostly because I struggle with motion, not so much the heights. Have a great day!
