Happy Tuesday, friends! I'm linking up with Amy and Marsha today for Fashion Files. I was looking into ideas of things to wear during the summer months, and discovered that I already have some of what I was looking at on Pinterest.
One trend I saw for "casual summer outfits" were button downs.
Button downs are still trending this spring and summer! I have plenty of these and wear them in a couple of different ways: with leggings, or with cropped wide leg jeans. I think my favorite is with leggings, but you could wear one unbuttoned with a tee underneath, or buttoned and then tied off at the waist. I like them as coverups with swimwear (and plan on using the white one this summer as one of mine), and even as pajamas, though I don't use mine that way. All of my button downs were purchased from Old Navy; the most recent two that I bought are white, and pink stripes. I love them both! I also love a denim button down and found this one on Amazon.
I love this two piece lounge set!
Speaking of swimwear...I ordered a couple of new suits this week.
This one is very reasonably priced!
And because Marilyn told me I need more than one swimsuit, I also bought this one.
Here's a link for this one.
While I was browsing Amazon, I found this kimono and this white tee.
In case you're wondering, here are the sandals I'll be wearing with all of my summer wear.
I don't have a link for the block heels, but they're from Rack Room last summer. I love them, but only wore them once. I'll definitely wear them again this year. The second pair is the Reef brand, and will be on repeat. Here's the link for those.
These Dr. Scholl's sandals were a favorite from last summer! And why not add a pretty gold anklet to complete the look? Here's a link for that.
Do you have thoughts on all of these things? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for reading my blog today, friends. Love to all!
Jenn

I think I own one button down top-- 1! It's a white gauzy/linen top so I haven't really gotten to wear it yet this spring but hopefully soon.
ReplyDeleteI really love them because of their versatility! I bet your white one is cute. Hopefully you can wear yours soon!
DeleteYou just inspired me to buy two pairs of shoes!!! I've had "buy navy sandals" on my list for awhile, just haven't gotten around to it - thanks for the motivation :)
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! I'm glad you finally bought the ones you've been wanting for a while. You have earned them, I'm sure!
DeleteI think all of your button ups and leggings for school could be made more summery with a simple change of the sneakers for your Reefs. Love the button up as cover up! So chic! I love your new suits! Yes, you do need two!
ReplyDeleteI think so, too...I even have some shorts I could wear them with if I wanted...but I would wear them open instead of buttoned. Thanks! I'm excited for them to get here so I can try them on. This will give me three to choose from all summer!
DeleteYou are slaying it at the button downs! I love them and they look so cute on you. So glad you have new suits coming. This means we need some pool time!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I do love them...if Ina Garten can have a signature look, so can I, right? I'm excited about the new suits and can't wait to try them on. I cannot WAIT to lay by your pool!!
DeleteOh your outfits look so comfy! LOVE that kimono with the white tee- that is going to be adorable
ReplyDeleteThose button down shirts really suit you and I love those swimsuits! Those sandals look really stylish and comfortable too.
ReplyDeleteI also really like button down shirts. I need to check out Old Navy - I haven't been in one in years.
ReplyDeleteI have the kimono and the white tshirt! I love them! I also bought the kimono in other colors. Makes getting dressed a lot easier! I love the button down shirts.
ReplyDeleteI love button ups or button downs! They are such workhorses! You look really good in leggings, too. Your sandals are all so good! I really need a pair of plain ones because I tend to buy outrageous patterned ones. Thanks for linking up with us on Fashion Files!
