Happy Thursday, friends! I'm talking about my weekly happies again today, because I need more intentional gratitude in my life. I'll jump right in!
I am grateful for the people I have in my life; I'm grateful for my sons, Chris, Mom and Bill, my sisters, my friends, my co-workers who are also my (work) family.
I loved this graphic from Instagram; I am thankful for inspiring/encouraging accounts to follow there. We all need this reminder, right? I am so grateful to live in a country like ours, where we have so many freedoms. I don't ever want to take this for granted!
I love it when it's this time! I'm always thankful to be thought of, which is what this means. I like to take a picture of it and send it to Chris.
I'm so thankful for the generosity of others! A sweet parent sent a gift card to me yesterday; this kind of thing is never lost on me. I was humbled when she gave it to me as she dropped my little student off.
Quotes like this one make me so happy! I am still in love with the color pink; have you read about women who love this color? Women who love pink:
- have a tender heart; they value kindness, compassion, and making other feel loved.
- see beauty in the little things. Fresh flowers, handwritten notes, sunsets, cozy blankets, and quiet moments may bring them genuine joy.
- are hopeful. Pink is often connected with optimism and believing that brighter days are ahead.
- have a romantic spirit. That doesn't necessarily mean they're focused on romance—it can also mean they appreciate meaningful relationships, thoughtful gestures, and emotional connection.
- enjoy expressing themselves. Whether through clothing, decorating, writing, or creativity, they often like bringing beauty into the world.
- are resilient. Many women who love pink have discovered that gentleness and strength can exist together. Being soft doesn't mean being fragile.
Here are couple of things I was reminded of as I read that again: a song titled Brighter Days by Blessing Offor, and this picture I colored for my little student on Wednesday.
I still love my front door color; that being said, I'm ready for a change. Stay tuned! A new colorful front door will be coming toward the end of August. If you have color recommendations, send them my way; I don't want white, black, or red, so keep that in mind if you think of a color for me. I am grateful that I have the freedom to change my door color as often as I want.

I am so grateful for my home, and for the nights I have here. I truly love my home!

I like how you're intentional about finding good things!! One happy from the week for me was receiving a sweet text from a local friend and from a blog friend :). I'm so bad with color schemes/decor. I love the current color of your front door- I'm afraid I don't have great suggestions because decor ideas don't come very naturally to me. Great graphic about America's 250th birthday :).

DeleteAlways love these posts! So uplifting and JOYful :) Ok there is a house down the street from us with a tangerine door. It is so beautiful and really pops against the grey house. So a couple of examples of a color like that are: Benjamin Moore "Tangerine Fusion" 083, Sherwin-Williams "Tangerine" SW 6640 and Behr "Cheerful Tangerine" P210-5

Thanks for that! I've thought about green. I had one picked out about a year ago when I went to a paint store and came home with samples...speaking of that, I ordered several samples online from Sherwin Williams. They send you up to ten for free! I agree about the card/gift card. I just love the gift of thoughtfulness.

I am still trying to convince my fella to get a pink front door but he says no! He's not being mean, he's being sensible. Our door us uPVC so it would mean getting a whole new door. lol

ReplyDeleteWe are not allowed to change our door color without “approval“ from our HOA so you are lucky you can do what you want. I was thinking yellow with that gray. Sunny and cheerful year-round :) The pink was a great way to mark your beginning in this new life.
I have thought about yellow...and I am open to that idea, actually. I would have to pick a really nice golden yellow so that it would stand out on my tiny porch. Thanks for the rec, though!
DeleteI love your pink front door, but I also can't wait to see what you pick next! I really want to paint our whole house, but I'm getting stuck on how much work it must be to paint the whole thing. Maybe I'll start by painting the door!
ReplyDeleteThank you! You should start with the door; I'm a believer that one small thing leads to another and so on and so forth. Get you some paint samples and buy a quart, depending on the size of your door. It took less than that for me to paint two coats of this shade over my old white door. I know what you mean about painting the whole house, though. It can be daunting! I ended up hiring someone to do the downstairs for me; I painted the kitchen and one hall myself, but for the rest of the halls, living, and dining rooms, I out sourced. It was worth every penny! If you ever do that, make sure and get at least three quotes. I went with the least expensive one, but it was a friend of my son's, which helped.
