Friday Favorites, 11.5.21

Happy Friday, friends! I'm linking up with Andrea and Erika for this weekly blog post.

It's been an easy week for me. I haven't really been anywhere or had anything happen that was new and noteworthy, but I can't let a Friday pass by without participating in this.

Did you happen to catch the post I made about the books I read in October? If not, you should check it out and be inspired to read! You can find that post by clicking here. Reading is my favorite.

I shared this picture on Monday—this cozy season that we're in is my favorite! Cue all the extra blankets and throws, and I am a happy girl. My bedding stays the same throughout the year, but when it gets consistently cool at night, this red plaid blanket goes on the end of my bed and stays there until spring. Those lights and garland stay in place all year, but once I decorate for Christmas, I'll add in a bunch of Christmas throw pillows.

Excuse the makeup-less face, but this type of day was my favorite! Nowhere to go or be, nothing on my agenda other than housekeeping stuff, reading a book, watching a Hallmark Christmas movie...I've had several days just like this all week. Like I said, it's been a quiet week. When I don't have anywhere to go, I don't usually get dressed or put on makeup. Unless it's been too many days in a row of that, then I'll get "dressed".

I went to get my nails done this week, a favorite day of mine. I'd tried to go to a different place the last time I went, but I went back to my regular place this time and will stay there. They're my favorite and do a better job with the dip powder. This will be the last time I get a dark polish until after the new year...I like to go bright, sparkly red for December, then white with glitter after that. I know they look pretty much the same as last time, but they're not.

Just to prove that I actually did get fully dressed and out one day this week, I took this to check my makeup. This was the night my best friend and I went to a preview movie screening for a movie that will be in theaters on Christmas Day. It was a fun night and being with her is always a favorite. Also, this is my favorite sweater! I love the slouchy turtleneck on it and one of my favorite colors is purple.

Bible study is always a favorite and I'm excited to do this advent study this holiday season! I'm doing this with my friend that I met through my blog, Bri. We plan to do the study and video chat once a week to talk about it. This looks like a great study! I'm so excited to start. I love how the days are outlined.

This picture above was my favorite dog moment of the week. I love how Oakley jumped up to snuggle beside Chip! I call this the party couch, because it's where the dogs prefer to lay. Todd sits here at night and it's like they all fight over who gets to sit next to him. Dogs are the sweetest things ever.

How has your week been? I'd love to hear from you! I hope you've had a great week, friends. Thanks for reading! Love to all. ❤

  2. Love that purple sweater! Looks great on you! Have to ask...what is dip powder? Is it similar to get - as in, do you have to scrape it off at the next visit? Is it available at any salon? I don't recall seeing it. I am intrigued!!

  5. Thank you, Jennifer! Yes, dip powder and the gel (shellac) are similar. The dip powder makes your nails hard, though...similar to the feeling of an acrylic nail. It's best on nails that are weak and thin, like mine. The only time I've ever broken a nail with dip powder on it is when I accidentally hammered it...and it still didn't actually break! It just cracked and I went in for a repair and went along for another two or three weeks. That's how long you can go between with the dip powder...well, that's the case for most people. I hope that helps!
