Fashion Files! 2.16.23.

Happy Thursday and welcome to another bonus post for the week. I'm linking up with Kellyann and Jill for this weekly post that's become fun for me to participate in.

I wore this comfy and cozy outfit on Friday. It was Superbowl attire day at CWES, and since I didn't have a team jersey or even team colors to wear, I wore jeans and my favorite hoodie instead. I was so comfy!

I wore this outfit on Saturday when I went out with Mom and Trish, I wore it to church on Sunday and I'll probably wear it again on Friday when it gets cold again. The thing I love about outfits like this is that I know I can always reach for it and be comfy and feel put together. I switch up the shoes and pants for the occasion, but I wear this favorite shirt often. It was one I picked out as a Christmas gift for myself from my mom and stepdad. It turns out it was money that was well spent! It wasn't expensive, though. I love shopping at my favorite boutique—The Paisley Rooster, which is where it came from. It was only around $30.

I wore this comfy outfit to work on Monday, since it was warmer outside. I love these wide legged pants that came from J. Jill a few years ago. I wear them often! I paired them with a soft sweatshirt type shirt that I forgot about—it says "faith moves mountains". I wore this with a white tank top underneath.

Tuesday was my favorite day to dress! It was also when I remembered why I love working in a school environment—I get to wear fun accessories like this light up heart necklace. My shirt was from Old Navy, a clearance find, that I ordered a couple of weeks ago. I love it, and what it says, which is "love more". It felt appropriate for Valentine's day. I loved it with the mocha colored cardigan that I wear often.

(My glasses are those Amazon readers I found a few weeks ago! Here's a link for you, in case you're interested.)

On Wednesday, I was going to wear black pants with this gray boutique shirt I bought right after the new year. I love the fun sleeves! It's a little big, if I'm honest, so I wasn't sure about wearing it, and changed my mind.

Instead, I wore this.

I'm so glad I changed to take advantage of the sunshine and warmer weather. I was so hot all day!

I think out of all these, my favorite was what I wore on Valentine's day. I dress pretty simply and have a bit of a minimal wardrobe. I have lots of tops that I love that I wear all year long under other things, and I do also have a few seasonal things. I rotate between just a few pairs of pants—three pairs of black, two pairs of jeans, and three pairs of colored pants (burgundy, dark green, and royal blue). I wear the same few pairs of shoes over and over again as well, rotating between black flats, black clogs (both only for church), wedges (beige and brown), and the Hey Dudes I wear each day to work.

That being said, when I look at my closet, I don't have a ton of clothes, even though I can dress in a way to make it seem like I do. I also wear the same jewelry all the time, too, so I'm pretty boring when it comes to that. I have definitely found my style, which leans a little toward bohemian (think flowy, loose fitting, and comfortable) with a little bit of quirky thrown in the mix. I love wearing fun accessories like the light up necklace I wore this week. I don't like to spend a lot of money on this, so I like to go to stores that have quality clothing and shop the clearance section. I'm never opposed to consignment either, and will shop there as well when I find something. I have learned a lot from friends in real life and my friend Amy, whose blog I love. I am always appreciative of people teaching me things! I also use other blogs and Pinterest, though not as much as you'd think.

How do you shop/dress? What type of style are you? These things are fascinating to me. Thanks for reading my blog! Love to all.

  1. It seems like you are finding lots of stuff to wear and I'm glad you didn't have to go out and buy a ton of clothes. Do you feel that your elementary school is pretty casual? I have noticed the elementary is the most casual between high, middle, and elementary. We have several male teachers who wear a tie every day at my school! I think the little kids love festive clothing and the best example is Sarah from Sunshine and Books!
I think the most important thing is dressing to be comfortable in your skin so you can be your best self. I love that you are happy and feel great! It's getting cold again here, too, so time to get back out the sweaters I want to wear again!

  2. I really have found lots of clothes since I cleaned out my closet! I haven't had to repeat an outfit yet. I would say that we're pretty casual. We're allowed to wear leggings, as long as everything is covered. I don't wear those, but I pretty much dress the same each day. The most casual I've been so far were both in the last week. It makes sense that elementary would be the most casual, and you're so right about Sarah! I love her cheerful clothing and colorful style.

  3. Definitely going to check out the Amazon readers: love that particular pair especially! I wore a lot of casual outfits with sweatshirts on our winter break but otherwise really like to mix it up. A little bit of everything!

  5. Very cute and cozy looking outfits! We're enjoying some nice warmer weather these past couple of days and I am loving not having to reach for a coat to go outside but I'm still sporting all the thick sweaters.

  7. Mireille- I love these readers! This pair and the brown tortoiseshell are my favorites. I hope you like them if you buy them! I do suggest knowing what strength you need before ordering.

  9. Thanks, Joanne! It's been SO WARM here this week. We had rain two days and it was also extremely humid, and miserable. Our A/C units have struggled all week to keep up...it's hard to regulate the inside temp when it matches the outside.
