Happy Friday, friends! I'm linking up with Andrea and Erika for today's favorite blog post of the week. I hope you've had a good week! Mine was good, but I was glad for the weekend to arrive.
This new Advent study came in the mail last weekend. It's so beautiful inside! This is the third study I've done by Gretchen Saffles and the Well-Watered Women community. These studies never disappoint and always become a favorite part of my holiday season. The purpose of an Advent study is to slow down and find glimpses of the Savior throughout the busy season. We're all prone to falling prey to the hustle and bustle; while this time of year is always my favorite, I don't love how quickly it rushes by. I need all the slowing down and savoring I can get!
Noah took this picture at my husband's shop a couple of weeks ago, and it's one of my favorites! I love a beautiful sunset, do you? About my husband's shop, this is something I don't ever really talk about here, but our family business is Medical Repair Services. We repair equipment in doctors' offices, dental offices, hospitals, and veterinarian clinics—things like tables, sterilizers, and anything else that takes care of the equipment they use. This is the shop they work out of; there's an office with desks for the three of them, and there's a workspace that's the majority of the inside. The guys are always going there to work on vehicles, because they have jack stands and just about any kind of tool they could ever need. It's nice to have the space for them to do that kind of thing, and their friends are almost always with them.
My sister Trish bought this wrapping paper last weekend on our day out. It's my favorite! I took this picture because I had to show you. On the subject of wrapping paper, wrapping presents is one of my favorite things to do during the Christmas season! Is that something you enjoy or dread? I like to do it as I go along.
I shared this picture already, but for anyone who may have missed it, this is the new bedding I bought us last weekend. It's my favorite! I love a tartan plaid, especially when it's Christmas colored!
Pictures like this are my favorite! I caught Jonah as he was talking to us one night this week. He's the one who Chloe belongs to. I will always love Jonah's dimples!
Going to the dentist isn't necessarily my favorite thing in the world, but I am so thankful it's something we're able to do, and I never want to take that for granted. I went on Monday to get my teeth cleaned. As I sat there alone reading, I couldn't help how things have changed so much. We used to fill up Dr. Garrett's waiting room when we all went for cleanings. We were always there at least two hours, too, and though I don't miss that part, it's just so different that we haven't all been together in years. This is how it should be, though, right? It's really hard for me to grasp the swiftness of passing time.
Our neighborhood is always my favorite during this time of year. We are known for our old oak trees. 🖤
I can't stop with the pictures of Chloe sitting like this. It's my favorite sitting position I've ever seen a dog sit in. I think she thinks she's human.
This was my favorite dinner this week! I used frozen meatballs and cooked them in the oven according to the package instructions, then I served them over sauteed onion and peppers, and tossed together with marinara sauce. The leftovers didn't last long!
I snagged this picture from my mom-in-love's Facebook post yesterday. Seeing these two cuties having so much fun with their friends while vacationing is one of my favorite things to see. This trip was a long time coming!
And lastly, nail day is always my favorite! I finally got around to going yesterday after work. And yes, this is black nail polish. It's probably my favorite color, because it goes with everything.
Just a reminder that tomorrow is the Share 4 Somethings link party that I host, where we talk about things we've loved, learned, read, and ate and/or enjoyed throughout the month. I'll open the link up at midnight on the 28th, and I'll keep it open for about three weeks. Additionally, the Currently link party happens this Wednesday November 1. We'll be talking about what we're currently loving, buying, preparing, excited for, and planning. (I changed one of these for November, just in case you'd made a note somewhere of when I talked about this on the October Currently post.) I'd love for you to join us for one or both of these!
Do you have something that was a favorite from your week? I'd love to hear about it, if you do! Thanks for reading my blog, friends. Love to all!
That sunset is so pretty! As is your new comforter. That would be a fairly simple yet fun way to add some holiday cheer to the bedroom. My girls have Christmas themed comforters which make their rooms looks so cheery during December. I always wrap gifts as I go. I love to place wrapped gifts under the tree (my kids never believed in Santa!) because I think they´re so pretty and festive.
ReplyDeleteAll good stuff! Love the black nails and I ordered that color in press ons!
ReplyDeleteHave a relaxing weekend!
Oh my gosh your Christmas bedroom is perfection- I am drooling-ha! Love the pics of your boy and dog- so sweet- such a cozy time of year :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Maria! You know I love a good sunset. This one was spectacular! I do love our Christmas themed new bedspread! I like to do that too, but I'm not sure how well that will work this year with a new puppy in the house. We'll see!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Amy! Your nails are still looking really good. You'll love the black! Every time I get this color I always wonder why I don't get it more. I hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Holly! It really is such a great time of year!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sunset, I love seeing God's handiwork! That wrapping paper is so cute. Wrapping christmas presents is definitely a favorite for me! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteAnonymous- who are you? I'd love to greet you properly. Thanks for that, it's a picture one of my sons took. He captured it beautifully! I hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteChloe is cute as can be, and I love the picture of Jonah. I feel the same way going to the dentist. I don't enjoy going, but thankful we have a good plan that allows me to go often. And I miss taking the kids for appointments. When I was a teacher for 10 years, I only went to the dentist a handful of times because I didn't have dental insurance and was on such a tight budget. Anyway, hope you have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteGreat favorites! I love the wrapping paper and I'll bet your meatball dish would be really tasty in sub rolls. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful sunset! I love wrapping gifts and am kind of sad that as the kids get older I have less and less to wrap.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tanya! I know you don't take the gift of being able to do that for granted. We have a ministry here in Memphis at a huge church for two days twice a year: it's a dental hospital of sorts for people who don't have insurance and who can't afford to be seen in an office. I think it's such a wonderful ministry! I wish I could remember the name of it, because it's clever, but of course it's fled my mind.
ReplyDeleteAnyhow, I hope you enjoy your weekend!
Thanks, Pamela! That would be delicious! I love meatballs- what's not to love?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Joanne! I feel the same. Well, I feel sad about the fact that everyone always knows what their presents are these days. They always love getting certain things for their vehicles, and we love being able to give that to them. But it's sad for this mom's heart! And so it goes, though, right? I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe advent study sounds wonderful. We all need to slow down a little.
ReplyDeleteYour family business sounds so interesting. I've never thought about doctors equipment being repaired.
I love buying gifts and giving them but I dread the wrapping part.
What beautiful trees in your neighbourhood.
Thanks for sharing about the family business. That is interesting! I like to wrap presents while watching a Hallmark movie or other Christmas show. That meatball dinner sounds delicious!
ReplyDeleteLove your decor! I love fall so any pics of fall foliage just makes me so happy - it's so pretty.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics of the fam & puppies!
Have a great week!

Kim, I agree! I am really excited about doing this study in the holiday season. It's a very interesting business, and one I'm thankful for. It has supported our family throughout the years! I hope it continues to do the same for our sons.
ReplyDeleteMarilyn, I love to wrap while listening to Christmas music. I am really fast at it, so the time always goes by really fast. Thanks for that about the business, it's very interesting and has been the livelihood of our family for many years!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Morgan!
