thankful Thursday

Happy Thursday, friends! I forgot to post yesterday until later in the day, so if you want to go back and read it, you can click here. I didn't actually forget, but I didn't remember until I laid down to go to bed at ten o'clock. I was beat! I know that I did this same type of post last Thursday, but today on my 47th birthday, I have so very much to be thankful for!

I am so thankful for my wonderful husband. He is my best friend, greatest cheerleader, and the best dad ever of all time. I wish I could explain all the things he does to help our sons, but time would run out and you'd get bored. Having four adult sons keeps him busy!

I am thankful for our sons! They are nowhere near perfect, and make questionable decisions all the time, but they are sweet young men and really great guys. I promise I do not take this for granted!

I'm thankful for our parents and the fact that they're all in moderately good health. I'm also thankful for the fact that we get to see them all fairly often! I saw Mom and Bill on Monday (and twice on Sunday!), I saw Dad and Sandy last night, and I get to see Phyllis and Wiley tomorrow night. I love that we live so close to them and that we get to do this kind of thing often.

I'm thankful for our siblings, and the close relationships we have. Again, none of us are without fault, but family is important! This hits close to home this year, since I lost a sister back in March. I think all the time of how I wish I'd talked to her more, tried to stay in closer contact even if we were separated by miles. Life is too short to waste opportunities and time!

I am so grateful for such amazing, Godly friends. I literally do not know what I would do without them in my life, and every time I thank God for them, I pray that all of the people I love have something similar in their own lives. My best friend has been walking through something with me for the past few months, and she's been so concerned for me that she keeps calling or coming into the bookstore to check on me. I love her so much! And I love how concerned she is for my emotional wellbeing. 🤣

I am thankful for God's mercies that are new every morning! Lamentations 3:22-24 is one of my life passages in Scripture. It says: Because of the LORD's faithful love we do not perish, for his mercies never end. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness! I say, "The LORD is my portion, therefore I will put my hope in him." Lately I've been waking up every morning and thanking God for this very thing; yesterday is over and forgotten, but His mercies are as new as a fresh morning. I have needed this reminder over and over again this year!

What are you thankful for this week? I'd love to hear! Thanks for reading my blog, friends. Love to all!

  1. Happy birthday, you young baby! Did you take the day off from work? Self care? Pampering? If you didn't today, I hope you have some planned soon!

  2. Thanks, Amy! I didn't take off today, but I did on Tuesday! I had appointments to get my hair done and then I went to get my nails done after. I also had a fun event that night, so it felt like a big celebration all day!

  4. First and foremost - Happy Birthday! Hope your day is fantastic.
I am so thankful for good friends and family. I don't have a lot of either of them, but the ones I have I hold near and dear to my heart. As my fortune said last night, things may not be great, but they're good enough.

I love all the things you are thankful for. His new mercies every day is such a wonderful thing.

I too wrote a thankful post today. Maybe Rebecca will start this link-up again someday. It's a great reminder for me.

    Again, have a blessed birthday!
